I can not do a lot of standing for a long time. I need a dessert for 100+. Any ideas would be helpful.

The Amish eclair dessert is easy to make and wouldn't require standing for long. You layer graham cracker squares in the bottom of a pan, then a layer of vanilla pudding; do this for 3 times and top with a can of chocolate frosting that you have microwaved just long enough to make it pourable - pour over the top and refrigerate overnight. The crackers get just soggy enough to scoop out everything onto plates, and it is so delicious!

Brownies
Ice cream sundae bar
Fruit tray
Chocolate fondue
"Ice cream truck" theme with chocolate eclairs, ice cream sandwiches, Italian ice, etc.

Buy a coffee cake sheet cake.

Cut each piece to fit the size of a cupcake liner. Should be a small bite size square piece in a cupcake liner.

Line them up on a platter, sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Then stack the next layer on top. Sprinkle powdered sugar again.

You now have individual snack sized coffee cakes in pretty little cupcake liners on a platter.

What do you mean by dessert? How 'filling' does it need to be?

4 batches of cookies

Pretzels with rolos melted on top (or any small candy)

Texas sheet cake (probably need 4)

Choc dipped frozen banana bites

pudding with crumbled cookies, candies, whipped cream

What about ice cream novelties? IIRC, Walmart has about a 40/pk for around $10. 3 of those...a small variety and you are done! No muss, no fuss, and your kitchen stays clean!

How about strawberry shortcake? You can cut up the strawberries the night before sitting down at the table. Buy pound cake at the bakery, slice it, scoop some strawberries on top and a blast of whipped cream - done!

Doesn't need to be filling as dinner will be served as well.

These are some great ideas. I need to choose. Now that is the difficult part.

Thanks everyone!

I did this one for a party a couple of weeks ago. I cut up the strawberries the night before. When it was time to be served it came together quickly. :goodvibes

I was thinking strawberry short cake as well, or a huge banana pudding. If your health is not great, I would go to Sam's or Cosco and buy two of the huge 1/2 sheet or one whole sheet cake and be done with it. They are not too expensive, really good and can be decorated with whatever theme you are celebrating. A 1/2 sheet is 48 servings and a whole is 96. They also do good, really cheap cupcakes.

Brownies are a cheap, easy, portable idea! You can do add ins to make a Brownie mix very good!
