need help with camping trailer info

One thing I didn't see mentioned in this thread is how many people are you looking to accommodate? Since you have T&C I am just guessing that there are kids involved. This obviously is also a factor whether a tow-able, drive-able, or tents. When we were young we used to go camping every year. Mom and Dad stayed in a Tent (HEAVY DUTY Canvas that was large enough for them to stand up in. Probably 10x10 by 6' high) and the four of us kids stayed in a Pop-up. It was a very basic one. Canvas sides on the wings and walls. Just beds on the wings and the middle section had a table that would seat (comfortably) 4 and would fold down to a bed that could easily sleep 3-4 kids. Since there were 4 of us, my eldest brother slept on one wing, my Sister (second eldest) slept on the other wing (with a curtain) and me and my other brother slept in the middle section. No Water, No electric, no gas.... (We used sleeping bags and Propane Lanterns as well as flash lights)

Plenty of room and my mom and dad used our Station wagon to pull it no problem. A T&C is comparable to a station wagon and probably could do just as well.

Weight is clearly a factor when towing though. Lots of things to consider, Tongue weight, GCWR, etc... So don't be discouraged about a tow-able, if that's where you want to go. Now if you are looking for more than a basic "Primitive" mode of camping, and you want some "Comforts" you have to be a bit more concerned. Carrying water (about 8# per gallon) and Propane (1 or 2 20# cylinders) as well as additional hardware (fixtures, hard walls, etc) make the weight go up quickly.

At least you are starting at a good place and asking the questions. As others have said, certainly go looking at them at dealers and even the bigger shows such as Hershey. Don't listen to the dealers when they say "Oh it can be towed by....." They have a vested interest in making a sale, so they will "Stretch" to the limits. Keep doing your research and I am sure you will have a blast.

Zak just found out that show is going on now. They will be at Dover Blue Hen Mall thru Sun. Not all the De Dealers are there but most will be. One that is not is hosting open house at their location ( Exit 119 of rte 1 Southbound side of 13 )

You are growing them big... eh? :)
That would be correct Peg Older one started out as Peanut Now answers to CHUBBS. Fortunately they don't like RIDING in the coach so they hide on slide under the bed so don't have to worry about added wight over wheels for traction. The dogs are another story. Stop and go traffic has smaller one unsettled Big one thinks You are just sitting there Daddy let me crawl in your lap or that space at your feet is where I belong

We don't travel much with our animals (4 Cats, 1 dog, 2 kids + 1 Boy friend), okay, so the last three do come more frequently, but when we have to take our "Little" (aka 120+ pound) lap dog (Yellow Lab) in the Car or truck, he thinks he needs to be up with his Daddy or Mommy which makes it somewhat difficult to drive with.

We used to have a Suburban and we'd put him in the very back and tie his leash down to a tie down hook, but he would bark LOUDLY the whole time. He would finally settle down and wouldn't you know it, it was time for Gas or Bathroom break or something and he would just get cranked all over again.

We did take him to the fort with us once, but he rode (nicely) in our TT on the Queen Bed. Again, though, every time we stopped, he'd go crazy....

I could only imagine what he'd be like if we had a Class A or C.... Oye! :)
