Ok with my girls it is so much easier to eat CS or buffets. We are going to do the norway princess breakfest we have done that before and the girls were good. It seem the food came out pretty fast. Our dates are 10/24 to 10/31 no dining plan. We only want to do a few buffets we were thinking Crystal Palace. We are also trying to do breakfest to keep cost down.
Please post some good buffets and some good cs meals. We are staying at CBR it this helps. We try to eat breakfest around 10 or later so we skip lunch. I would like some diffrent cs meal options also.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Our favorite counter service meal is the ribs and chicken combo at Cosmic Rays. We get 2 orders and it feeds the 4 of us.

Crystal Palace Breakfast or Dinner Buffet, very good food and characters
Cape May Clam Bake very good for dinner buffet my kids love it there because they have paper tablecovers the kids draw on. The breakfast character is also very good there. Going to Chef Mickeys first time this year.
Biergarten in Germany is also good. My kids didint eat much there though. Entertainment is fun for the kids.
MK=Counter Service I like is Cosmic Rays and Peco Bills both have very good fixin bars.
Animal Kingdom Pizzafari my kids like. Flame Tree my SIL said is good.
HS= Backlot Express is good. Toy Story Plantet of course.
Epcot MY DD like Mexico, My DH and DS like America and I want to try Sunshine Season.
Have a good trip!

Just came back a week ago....three girls 7,5,3. We did Chef Mickey's for breakfast and the Crystal Palace for lunch. Both were fantastic and we would do both again.

CS Meals....in Animal Kingdom we enjoyed Flame Tree BBQ
Epcot.....Sunset Seasons in The Land was probably the best CS we had!

Since your kids are young, you might consider the Playhouse Disney buffet at DHS. We did the latest possible breakfast seating there in Sept. '08, and had a wonderful time. We got to eat both breakfast and lunch food, the place was uncrowded, and the characters (JoJo, Goliath, June and Leo) came around to our table several times. Plus, my DD (then 2.5) had a great time dancing with the characters.

I know opinions on Hollywood & Vine are mixed, but it was seriously our most fun meal of the vacation. Although we enjoyed the food at Crystal Palace, it was much more crowded, we had to wait forever to be seated, and we didn't even get to meet all of the characters.

As for CS, my only contribution is stay away from Pinocchio Village Haus. The menu is extremely limited and the food isn't good. I had a chicken salad and the chicken was thoroughly inedible. We tried Pecos Bill's the next day and thought it was better.

When we took our niece we found that they ate so much better at breakfast buffets and CS places for dinner...I would go with Chef Mickeys, Princess Breakfast, Ohana, Cape May, Tusker House and Crystal Palace.

BTW we will be there the same time as you!

For TS we liked

Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House
Chef Mickey's Breakfast
1900 Park Fare

For CS we liked

MK-Cosmic Ray's
EPCOT-Sunshine Seasons
AK-Flame Tree
HS-didn't eat any CS (I have no idea how we didn't eat any with 2 days there)

Can we walk from the CBR bus stop at Mk to Contempary for chef mickey's?

What about epcot for cs?

Here are my favorite in order.

Tangierine Cafe- Morocco (as good as some ts)
Sunshine Seasons - The Land (nice variety)
Somerfest- Germany (love the brats)
Cantina De San Angel - Mexico ( step up from Taco Bell, but it works)
Yorkshire County Fish & Chips- UK (F & C go great with a Bass Ale)

The Pastry in Norway and France are also something that you cannot pass up.

Buffets: Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey (although it was slow when we were there because Minnie was running slow) and The Biergarten. Another place that is not a buffet but seemed to keep the kids interested was Whispering Canyon. Between the horse races and the hokey pokey, there was always something going on. Also, I think they may have had crayons for the kids.

Buffets:

Donald's Safari Breakfast (great character interaction with the kids, have a dance parade and great breakfast food)...my son favorite character meal
Boma- breakfast
Cape May - breakfast (great character interaction with the family and good breakfast)
Crystal Palace (good lunch)... another of my son favorite character meal
1900 Park Fare breakfast (great breakfast food and great character interaction)
Hollywood and Vine - food is ok but my son loves this place b/c of the characters and a dance party and a parade. We did breakfast and lunch.
CRT - not a buffet but its all you an eat breakfast...I think your DD will like it.

Counter recommendations:
MK - Cosmic Ray's
Epcot - Sunshine Season
