I would like to get an annual pass by bridging my ticket to save money, but I want to make sure I understand how it works.
I could buy a 8 day park hopper ticket, no expiration for $561 (rounded off), a savings of $46. It is from a completely legitimate source, but don't know if I can say where.
Then I would use it once. Then I would go to guest relations or a ticket window and upgrade it to an annual pass. I would get credit for $607, the regular ticket price for an 8 day hopper no exp.
Annual passes are $612 (rounded), so I would pay about $5.
This would be a good savings if I could be sure this is how it works.
Can anyone help with this?

That's exactly the way it works. I did not verify your price numbers.

Thanks so much for your fast reply. I guess I will try this for my October trip because we plan on going twice within a year.

Thanks Cheshire Figment. Your ticket sticky is great. I had actually already read it, but I guess I thought the bridging seemed too good to be true, so I thought I must have overlooked something. We're going to Hollywood the first day so hope they are familiar with what to do. Thanks for your reply.
