Need help with a toy purchase..LeapFrog Info Needed..

Hello-
While I'm not a regular poster here on the CB, I need some non-Disney toy help. I am trying to find out about a LeapFrog product that you can use to connect to the LeapFrog website to download info onto cartridges-like for the Quantum LeapPad, the Turbo Twists, etc...

I keep seeing different versions--some are called "MindStation" and others are called "LeapLink". I can't figure out if they do the same thing and are just packaged different or if I need one of the other. We need the one that can download to the Turbo Twists and the Quantum or regular LeapPad.

I recently bought the Quantum system for my son for Christmas and found this site informative..

Thanks for the link! I have checked out LeapFrog site but they make not mention of the LeapLink, just the MindStation. That is why I think they *might* be the same thing, just re-named or re-packaged.

I just recently got my DD the Leapster and I think it does/will have that capability. It looks like a little hand-held computer. I haven't played with it much though so I don't know what all it will do, but they had a little demo out at Toys R Us and it was really cool looking so I got it for her.

We have the mindstation that came with my son's Quantum Pad. I'm pretty sure the Leaplink is the same thing.

Well, I can answer this question.

My son has a Quantum Pad, and my daughter has a Leap Pad.

We had a Leaplink and we just sold it on Ebay recently. The Leaplink and Mindstation do the same function, but there are some small differences.

One difference is the look, and styling. Obviously the Mindstation looks newer, and nicer. The Leaplink is a different colored unit.
The major difference is the size of cartridge. The Leaplink is a 2 MB cartridge, whereas the Mindstation is a 4MB (I think)

I bought the Leap link on a Clearance rack at Kmart for like $8 or so. The Mindstation costs much more.

Actually storage issue wans't that big of a deal... the stuff downloaded was mostly text..so it wasn't that much. The Leap frog we did "download" pictures,but that wasn't too bad.
