We recently purchased our first DVC contract through resale. Our settlement/closing is set for this Tuesday. My problem is this...I am planning a large family gathering for our 1st reservation and will need to reserve a number of studios or a multi-room unit. I've been reading on here that it can take weeks before I get my welcome package from Disney, but that our information will probably be listed in their computer system within a matter of days after closing. I'm worried that if I wait until all of the welcome packages arrives in the mail it may be too late to book this large vacation because it will be well into the 7 month booking period and the availability may be more limited. I'm also worried about relying on USPS because they initially lost my signed contracts & final payment, not to mention several other items in the last few months. I realize the MS phone number can not be posted on here, but am wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction as to where I can find it. I have tried contacting my realtor who sold us the contract, but they have not gotten back to me and it has been several days now. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Our resale contracts closed last Tuesday, and Jaki, our realtor, emailed member services phone number to us that afternoon. I bet your realtor will probably do the same. One set of points hit our new account yesterday, Saturday, and we made a reservation the same day!

I can post the non-toll free Member Services number for you:

CleoPahd - how many days do you plan to wait post-closing until you call? My closing is set for Monday (via resale) so I'm trying to decide when to call too. :thumbsup2

I'd wait a week after closng to call. There are a limited number of people at Member Accounting that enter new resale account info into the system. And some people will set up the initial account, but someone else will actually "add the points" to the account. So don't be shocked or worried if you do call, and Member Services sees your account in the system, but there are no points showing. It simply means you account is still in the processing stage.

Thank you for the tip Chuck. I've waited this long, so I think can be patient for 1 more week.
