Need help - where to start

Just started reading this board.. usually on the DisneyWorld and Disneyland boards.. I am looking to sell (not here!) my old 35 mm cameras. I have a Canon AE1 and a Canon EOS both with multiple lens. What would you experienced people suggest is my best option to sell these? I am looking to get some extra spending money for Christmas. My son is startig to research on EBay but not sure this is our best option.

If it helps the lenses are 35m - 70m, 28,m - 80m, 80m - 200m

I'd start by checking someplace like KEH.com to see what your equipment is going for. They list manual FD and EOS lenses separately, and make sure you look at the exact same lens you have... there are several incarnations of some of them. They also buy equipment there, so it may be what you need. Or if your local camera shop sells used gear, you may be able to sell there. Ebay isn't a bad place to sell, as long as you know what your equipment is worth when you list and are willing to accept that it may sell for significantly less.

If you don't want the hassle, you can send the whole lot off to KEH.com or Adorama.com, both buy used equipment, but your cameras are not worth much, neither are the lenses. The EOS body if it's film won't catch more than $100 unless it's it's a pro body like the Elan IIe. I picked up a 7e with the battery pack this summer for something like $150 and I paid a premium because I wanted the battery pack.

Ebay is a great place to sell, but you have to know how to list your camera and what the camera is worth. I looked, the AE-1 is worth about $50, the 80-200 about the same. I would expect you might get $250 for the lot, but remember, you have to pay ebay and paypal their cut, I would expect maybe $200 profit.

Ebay fees are ridiculous now. You basically have to pay them 12% of the final sale value after Paypal and Selling fees....
