need help week-end question

O.K. I have a question about week-ends. We want to try other resorts and save points on the week-ends. So here is my question. We are going on a four day cruise, we will get to Disney on a Thursday and are staying until the next Friday. We want to stay at a different hotel Thursday-Sunday and then move to SSR. You can't make AP ressies until a few months before your trip.

So do we just make a ressie for the whole trip at SSR and then drop the first three days if we get a deal with the APs, or do we only book Sunday-Friday and hope we can get a deal later.

It is a September trip and are month is September so there is no danger of losing points.

I would say if there's no danger that you could loose points, book with your points and then cancel if and when you get the resort you want with the AP rate. Just be careful to be sure about the not loosing points. If you have to borrow any, they cannot be put back.

Or, I would book your weekend at the resort that you could afford at today's rates. Then when or if AP rates are released, you can change to your desired resort. That way, you save weekend points, and if you can't get AP rates, you still have a room at a resort you can afford.

Thanks, I talked to DH and we are going to do what Puffkin said. This way we don't have to worry about getting points put back.
