DS and I were playing outside on his new slide (plastic Fisher Price set) that he got for Christmas. Anyways, somehow he hurt his foot. He didn't cry when it happened. He just went down. Then he started crying for me to pick him up. I picked him up and brought him into the house. I looked at his foot. Its the left one that hurts and the top of it looks bruised. He didn't really cry in pain, but he cried when I put him down. He won't walk on it. (DS is never one to cry from getting hurt. He scraped his forehead up pretty bad this weekend, but I had no idea he did it because he didn't cry. I just saw the blood.)
I called the dr. and they said to put ice on it every 20 min (20 min on and 20 min off) and to give him motrin. So I did this. He didn't really tolerate the ice. He's 2.25 years old. This all happened around 11am. I put him down for a nap at noon. He woke up a few minutes ago and I tried to make him walk. He just started screaming and crying. Since he had only been asleep for an hour and 15 minutes. I put him back to bed and he went back to sleep.
I'm just getting worried that he won't walk on it though.
Update:
DH took DS for x-rays today. His foot is fractured. He have an appointment to see an ortho tomorrow morning.
