Sorry to be dense, but I can't seem to picture where the single rider line is in relation to the SB line. I read that it isn't well marked so I want to be sure I know where to go.
Can you tell me how to find the single rider line?
Thanks!

When you walk into the building itself, you can go left or right. Right is the lockers. Left is the line. Go to the left, where the line is... but instead of veering to the left and continuing straight with the rest of the line, it's actually a sharp left turn.

It can be hard to see, it's dark in there and you've just come in from the light -- so just ask if you don't see it. There is someone who usually stands near the actual line, if you've gone past that person, you've gone too far. And if you've made the turn with the regular line further into Hogwarts, you've gone too far.

Does the SB line back up past the single rider line entrance? If so, do you need to wait in the SB until you get to the single rider line entrance?

The problem is not the standby line backing up, it is the line for the lockers that confuses most. Usually when the line for FJ extends outside the castle gates, it is actually the line for the lockers. If you have no bags, by all means let the TM at the outside gates know this and they are likely to usher you forward past all the others. Many people in that locker line have no idea that is what it is for and don't find out until they are at the lockers. After the lockers, the line will usually move quickly for quite a while. Once you are past the lockers look for that TM that nytimez mentioned. The SR line is at your 9 o'clock (dead-left) and up the stairs you will see at the TM.

Another way to get in it, is to avoid going into the castle at all. As you walk up toward the castle, stay to the left (line for bagless riders). Just before you go into the castle you will see a crevice in the walls. Go down that crevice and you will come to a wooden door. Open the door and you will be right at the foot of the stairs. If you look to the right you'll be able to see the standby line going in. Go up the stairs, which is the single rider line. Using this entrance you avoid the big mob coming out of the locker rooms.
