Need Help! Trying To Get A Cost Effective 1 Niter Along Sc Or Ga Ocean

WE WILL BE DRIVING DOWN IN APRIL 2007 AND WOULD LOVE TO STOP ALONG THE WAY AND HIT THE BEACH BUT NEED TO SPEND AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE, WITHOUT A LOTTERY WINNING I CANNOT DO A GREAT RESORT IN SC OR GA! WDW WILL HAVE 99% OF MY $ DS WILL HAVE THE REST!

ANY TIPS WOULD BE GREAT THANKS!

I used to live in Hilton Head and go there at least once a month. I dont think you will find anything on or very near the beach without spending a lot, especially in April (think Spring Break and Easter). You might want to look into the Savannah/Pooler GA area. Ive stayed in Pooler just off 95 lots of times for school. The place is growing too. There are places to eat and hotels (I always stayed at the Microtel). Theres a McDonalds in front of that, and Cracker Barrell just across the street (and many more in the area). The Mighty 8th Air Museum is there too if you have the time and interest. I dont know how far exactly the beach is from there, but I dont think its too far. I believe its Tybee Island (think Ben Affleck had or has a home there).

Other than that, Charleston and Beaufort are nice, but not exactly right on the beach. Plus you will want more time to explore these places. The other thing, dont expect white sand and blue waters in SC and GA. The water is sort of a murky brown. The water will be chilly too in April. Hope this helps a bit!

Hello, I live in Beaufort, and it is a great town, but no places to stay right along the beach. If you are looking for just one night I would check something like priceline one of those types of things. My husband and I stayed at the Marriott(sp) on hilton head that is right on the beach for 80.00 one night, just so we could get away for the night and it was really nice. I did the name your own price thing. Also charleston although not right on the beach either has some great places to stay for a pretty good price as well. esp if you can use aaa or govt. discounts or something like that. every month or so we will do those one night get a ways just to get out of town for the day. somethimes with the kids sometimes not
