Sorry to crash your thread but I am really interested in buying some shares, how do I find out how much they are at the moment? Thanks

at lunch time today, they were £9.40 each

Also need to take in to account that you will have to pay a transaction fee to the bank when you buy the shares so this needs to be factored in

Yes, this varies depending on the bank. I know HSBC & Natwest charge close to £20 comission

no, your shareholders card is not a photo ID card, its like a debit card.

finally got my password in the post today, so just bought the 5 shares over the phone. just waiting on letter now from halifax, then will fax it to disneyland, as this sounds the quickest way, prob wont get our card in time for our trip next month, but will at least get the temp letter, which will be just as good
