Need Help Switching Ressies with a Friend

We are booked for Boardwalk for June but have been waiting for WL. One of my friends has WL but got it through RCI and would rather have WL! It's an unbelievable coincidence.

We'd love to figure out how to switch. Do you think we could each just switch the names on our ressies to each other? Then I could add the new ressie to my Disney Experience account? My only fear is 1) they are not DVC but we are and 2) I can't afford to lose my FP+ because I have Anna and Elsa for my girls!

Changing your BWV reservation to their name is no problem - a quick call to MS will take care of that.

Their WL reservation through RCI will be a little more difficult as you will need a Guest Certificate ($59) in your name in order to use the reservation and will also have the $95 "Resort Fee" due at arrival. If they "own" that reservation themselves (meaning they do not have a guest certificate themselves), they can call RCI and change the reservation to your name and add the Guest Certificate. You will need that document to get your name on the reservation and will need your name on the reservation in order to check-in at the resort.

Since your FP+ reservations are tied to your park passes, you should be able to save those but your friend will need to get their own Magic Bands since those will be needed for access to their villa (and your MBs will also be needed to open your villa). You may need some technical assistance to make sure those things will work.

Thank you! This is exactly what I wanted to know. I think we are going to go through with it. I'm just going to be sure to call Member Services to make sure that we do it in such a way as to not lose those Anna and Elsa FP+!

Good luck. It took me once 2 hours on the phone with MS to give my Jambo room to my parents. It was a nightmare. It was because there wasn't availability at the resort and it had to be a cancel/rebook because of the name change. Maybe I had an uniformed CM?

I hope this works out for you! What a great switch to do with friends!

ETA: I may have had the trouble because I was trying to book a Kidani Room instead. But there was so much trouble switching me to Kidani and giving my parents Jambo. Maybe because we were both DVC? Who knows.
