DS13 and I will be doing a quick, 3 day trip next month. The purpose (other than having a great time of course!) is to surprise a very good family friend of ours who will already be there. My DS and her have been best buddies since forever, and we have taken several trips to Disney together, however it has been a while since the last one. My friend (the girl's mom) and I have been racking (sp) our brains to come up with a fun way to surprise her when we get there. The plan is to meet up with them at or very close to rope drop at Epcot. The one idea I have is to walk up to her, hand her my camera, and ask if she wouldn't mind taking a picture of me and DS. But I'm open to any and all suggestions!!

Thanks for your help!

You could tell her that you were treating her to an early breakfast at Akershus.
Then you could make reservations for all 4 of you and be there when they arrive.

Maybe make a breakfast reservation for all of you, and meet at the table?? Sounds like it will be a fun surprise for your son!:thumbsup2

I agree with the reservations - you could even ask the CMs to be in on it ... you could be seated and the CMs could say to your friends "sorry we're over booked would you mind sharing a table with ...."

 Another idea, your son could call his friend and ask her to buy him something from a specific gift shop.

For example, he could say, "The last time I was at MouseGear, I saw a cool Epcot ball cap that I wish I had bought. Can you pick it up for me?"

Then he could be in the shop waiting for her. He could even sneak up behind her, pretending to be a CM and ask if he could help her find something.

I like that!:thumbsup2

Have them enter at the International Gateway & have your son call them on the phone in the UK and be hiding nearby?

Maybe if you both have smart phones you could download the skype app. And then have the one call the other and see if they notice the ball or the monorail in the background.
We're going to be at disney this weekend and although my daughter knows we are going she doesn't know we are picking up a very special person at the airport. And the person is going to be making her a video and once i see her at the airport she's going to watch the video. And basically say something like, turn around what's that....it's going to be so much fun.

Enjoy your trip!

OH MY GOSH! I LOVE all of these! The trip is next month, I'm going to see if I can get any reservations....then take it from there.

You guys rock!!
