Need help surprising a friend...cheap ideas

Thanks for looking.........I need help surprising a friend for a night trip. It is my friends birthday this coming weekend. I booked a night at the Wisconsin Dells..she has never been before. We will be camping at a campground and included in the night is 2 days to Mt. Olympus. ( water park, amusement park and go carts) ..which is the main reason we are going.

The only thing I told my friend is that we are going away...don't make any plans for Saturday or Sunday. Told her to pack a couple outfits...swim suit and that was it. My husband and I will be packing all the stuff we need for camping and we will be cooking at the camground.

Her husband just left for 2 months and I thought a fun weekend would cheer her up.

Would like a FUN way to let her know where we are going.....something to give her in the car. Any cheap ideas of how to surprise her with this trip???

I had to look up what the Dells were.....So I'm not too familiar with the area, but how about a box filled with everything she'll need (for both camping and the water park) and have her guess where you are going:

bug spray
sun screen
towel
marshmallows (for roasting of course!)
map of the area
waterproof disposable camera

I would pack things like the PP said, like sunscreen, a beach towel, sunglasses, etc in a little basket for her to open on her way there..be warned: we were at Mt Olympus a little over a week ago and it was my first time being there and I use to live in Wisconsin Dells and it is HUGE, you will be lucky to find a place to sit especially on the weekend so if you find a chair hold on to it tight...we went during the week and it was PACKED to the rim..we parked a good ways away and they have no shuttles...if you have any other questions feel free to PM me..but have a great trip..the Dells in summer is AWESOME! make sure to head downtown and check out all the shops as well as tanger outlet mall, sorry i know i went OT!

There is a casino, Ho Chunk a few miles outside of Wis Dells - may be for $10 or $20 of fun???

Thanks for the suggestions. I like the idea of a box filled with some goodies she will need.

I have been to the Dells a few times. The last time we stayed at a hotel that was connected to Mt Olympus. My OLDER kids had a blast. The go carts were so much fun.

This time will be more of a budget trip. Like I said...we will be camping one night. Included with the price of the camping...we get tickets into Mt Olympus for two days. Actually it was quite a good deal. For $80.00 we get a camp site and 3 adult tickets for the two days. Just the tickets alone to Mt Olympus would have cost us $120.00

It is supposed to be right across the street so we shouldn't have a problem parking.

My friend keeps asking where we are going but I won't tell her...LOL.
