Need help selecting a deluxe resort!!

I would vote for BC - you can't beat the location, you can walk or boat to two of the parks. The pool is the best on property. The Marketplace at either one is fine for breakfast and refilling your mugs. For quick service I really like the food at Hurricane Hanna's by the pool, and it's a super quick walk to World Showcase for QS if you have hoppers.

Having just returned from an August trip with my mother and also being from a similar region as you, I would suggest yacht or beach club, possibly wilderness lodge if you are spending a good amount of time at MK. We stayed on the monorail line and I would not recommend it if your are going with your mother unless she is in great shape and used to the heat.

My mother is 68 and really struggled on the trip to Epcot because of having to go through the TTC and the added walking that involves. It's ashame because Epcot is her favorite park but by the time we got there she was too worn out to be interested in exploring the countries.

Obviously your budget will dictate your choice.

We have stayed at many resorts. Our Best Experiences have been Wilderness Lodge and Beach Club. I would suggest upper floors.

Hope you enjoy yourselves.....

My mother's main priority is themeing and a great quick service place, especially one to fill mugs and get breakfast.
The WL would fit the bill for her. :) We love the WL and now it has two good locations to fill her mug. :) GF also has great theming but the transportation to anywhere except MK is terrible.

I appreciate the feedback! I have heard of long bus rides in and out of WL. Is that not the case from your experience?
The boat to MK is great. everyone loves that the best. :) The buses aren't really too bad. The bus to MK is great since it is only a five minute ride. And lately they have been running a dedicated bus to Epcot, DHS and AK for the morning hours. At other times of the day the bus to Epcot shares with Fort Wilderness and the buses to AK, DHS and Disney Springs share with the Contemporary, with WL being the first stop.

If you want great transportation then the Epcot resorts are your best bet. The BC and YC share buses, the BWI has a dedicated bus, and you take a boat or walk to Epcot and DHS. If you stay at an Epcot resort you spend a whole lot less time on buses than most resorts. The downside is that the quick service is on the skimpy side. Options are limited.

The downside of the monorail resorts is having to take two monorails to get to Epcot. There is no other option unless the monorails go down. And that is a very long ride since you have to go through bag check twice, once at the resort and once at the TTC.

If your mother wants great themeing and great quick service then you have to do WL or AKL.

Because if momma ain't happy, then nobody's happy.

True!!

We have stayed at the AKL which we love its just so far from everything. Also, it feels like were the hotel always waiting a long time for a bus (but I'm sure most people feel that way!). I'm thinking of leaning toward WL as we want to spend more time in MK but it is quite the slog from AKL.
