My family and I have been to WDW several times over the last few years, but this December, I was thinking of a trip with just DW and myself. It will be nice to get a break from the DKs.

Anyway, I'm sure after 13 years of marraige, DW would be the first to tell you that I am romantically challenged. I'd like to do something romantic during our trip for two. Any suggestions?

I know we could do firework dining at CG or V&A, but I'm wondering what else there is to do with a romantic spin.

I appreciate your help.

You could do a Wishes or Illuminations cruise.

They are pricey...but the view is amazing.

Holding hands evrywhere. Anything she might like to do you normally don't get to do with the DK's. A nice dinner anywhere she would like to try. Getting some kind of Princess and prince shirts. Alot of little things can be just as romantics as a major dinner. Just doing things together. She knows you are trying and relax and just enjoy. A nice walk around and not be hurried. Spoil her in small ways can be just as nice. There is pleasure Island. There as couple things at the Spas, kind of pricey. It can be as simple as a snack in the rose garden in the MK.

Maybe the campfire at FW...find the movie schedule in the camping part of the board and go on a night when a favorite movie of ya'lls is playing...its kinda simple, but still could be romantic sitting under the stars and watching a fav disney movie...just a thought

Oh, I understand the romantically challenged thing, my honey is a first class sufferer. I love her all the same, but the woman has no clue.

Things that we have enjoyed at WDW......

The carriage ride over at FW at dusk. It was about $30 and we tipped the driver. It was magical with the appearance of deer and rabbits along the trails. I would do it again. :lovestruc

Having strawberries and champagne delivered to the room for a special night in. :thumbsup2

Watching Wishes hand in hand.

Ok, so it's not everyone's definition of romantic, but it works for us. Maggie

1) V and A's. Allow time to watch and even dance to the GF Orchestra in the lobby.

2) Strawberries and champagne delivered to your room.

3) Afternoon tea at GF

4) Couples massage at a spa.

I've done them all. Trust me. They all work. It's like having your oil changed. You'll be good for another 6 months!

try taking in the water parade from the beach @ FW w/a bottle of wine. Bring a blanket, believe it or not, it's pretty quiet during the week! p.s.-I'm new, how does one get those cool square litle pictures by their posts? thanks

:thumbsup2 Agree. You gotta go spend some time in the GF lobby. We had tea, just the two of us, on our last trip and then just sat around enjoying the ambience. Our kids woulda hated it :teeth:

the couples massage is great, but even if you don't do that, just have pedicures or facials or something.

We like to go to DTD and just walk in and out of the shops, anything that we'd always wanted to do without the kids.

Make your spouse coffee in the morning.

Put toothpaste on her brush.

Rub her feet with lotion after a day in the park.

Order room service.

buy her a small Christmas ornament, just to remember the trip

Don't talk about the kids! They will be fine.

Being romantic is a state of mind. It's easy if you put her first and do things with no thought of getting anything in return. No woman can resist a man who puts her ahead of his own interests

I'm bringing a teeny Xmas tree to set up in the room and Romantic Santa will leave a present or two under it every morning for DH:

- Mickey spa slippers, Mickey robe, and Mickey backscratcher

- Mickey wine glasses, half bottle of champagne, and a Tower Of Terror "Do Not Disturb" door hanger

- Mickey CD player and some non-traditional Disney music CDs (Disney Bossa Nova, Brubeck Does Disney, etc.)

Mickey and Cinderella will also be calling DH on his cell phone a couple of times during the trip to thank him for working so hard, being nice to his family, etc.

Gifts came from disneyshopping.com, laughingplacestore.com, and amazon.com. You can set the phone calls up using Disney's Enchanted Call, which you have to google.

A bit pricey, but I love the ideas of an Illuminations or Wishes private cruise boat to watch the fireworks.

Make a wish at Cinderella's wishing well together.

Surprise her with a spa treatment at the GF.

Order flowers or champagne for her and have them at the hotel when you arrive or when you return to your hotel one night.

Secretly buy her a souvenir that she was eyeing up during the day but didn't want to spend the money on. Then surprise her with it at the end of the night.

Go on a horse drawn carriage ride at Fort Wilderness.

I haven't done this, but I've seen reviews about private dining at GF. Someone had a table outside and watched the fireworks. Someone else had theirs inside. One of the reviews said you can work with a CM to pick out the menu and location. A butler is optional.

I think it's nice that you want to be romantic. I hope you have a great trip!

i hope your trip is already booked! people are having a hard time finding rooms, and i would imagine ADR's for V & A's!

what about the boat for the fireworks?

what about tuxedo strawberries and wine brought up by room service?

One of my most romantic memories was a few years ago at Epcot. DH and I had found a spot over by France to watch Illuminations, and he left for a few minutes and returned with two glasses of champagne. It was so nice to watch the fireworks while sipping our champagne!! A very simple and inexpensive, yet romantic gesture!

Donald Fan, you could send her out for ice and when she returns, be standing there with just a pair of Mickey Ears on and a BIG smile!

After 13 years of marriage, have you bought her a family ring yet? You know, a birth stone on a ring for each one of her immiate family members. If not, maybe give her one while at Disney. Do you guys have a favorite spot? Or in front of a fountain, try and think of where she likes to just sit and relax. :goodvibes Good luck

The carriage ride at Port Orleans is very nice. And you can bring drinks and snacks with you. We've taken wine and cheese with us and it was just soooo nice. If it's a little cool out, there are blankets in the carriage to snuggle under.

Enjoy yourselves!!
