We're heading to Nashville this weekend, and I've already had some great advice about restaurants. Restaurant.com has an 80% off deal that ends tonight, and there are a lot of Nashville restaurants listed. If anybody in the area has the time to look over these and let me know if they would recommend them, I'd really appreciate it.

I live and work in the Nashville area. It really depends on which part of Nashville you are going to be in. In Downtown Nashville my personal favorite is Demos Steak ans Spaghetti House. They are on 2nd ave. They Have good food at an affordable price. There is also The Spaghetti Factory. They have a real trolly car inside. There is also The Melting Pot which is Fondu. Yummy also. What kind of food are you looking for? Seafood, steak, italian???

Where are you staying?

If you are downtown-Demo's, The Old Spaghetti Factory, Jack's BBQ can't be beat.

Are you just wanting to use the restaurants listed on restaurant.com?

We're staying at the Opryland Hotel, and I'm looking for suggestions preferably in that area. If any of the places on restaurant.com were relatively close and good, I'd like to take advantage of their 80% off sale. Any suggestions are welcome, though. Thanks!

I can't say that I'd recommend any on the restaurant.com link. A lot of those places are not going to be near where you are staying.
Of course Opry Mills will be right next door to you and there are several chain restaurants to choose from.
Also if you like catfish, C ock of the Walk is just across the road from the hotel on music valley drive. Great food!

We ate at the Santa Fe steak house ( I think that was the name) and it was pretty darn good for a chain restaurant.

Off topic question but are you going to the DISA conference next week?

Can I make a quick non-restaurant suggestion?

It's small, quaint, and has the most amazing wine's. Just a little family owned place, and it's a hop, skip and a jump from the Opryland hotel.

Pack a corkscrew, and stop here first. You'll have fantastic night caps for your hotel. :thumbsup2

not on the list, but the Aquarium at OPry Mills is excellent seafood and fun environment, esp. for the kids.

Pancake Pantry is another favorite, but not near your hotel. Great breakfast.

I noticed this thread, and I just thought..

OMG!!!! I hope anybody around Nashville this weekend has a boat!!!!! :scared:

I really feel for everybody around there with these storms and floods.

It is insane! We've never had this kind of flooding. There have been 8 deaths this weekend due to the storms and it's still raining. Just amazing amounts of water!

I hope your family is safe. It took us 9 hours to get home today, and it usually only takes 4. After being diverted off of I40 twice because of flooding, we took a detour and ended up in Ashland City then got on I24 and headed toward Paducah. I'm so glad to be home, but I hope everybody there gets some relief from this soon.

I'm glad you made it home safe. I live in Southern Middle TN and we have been extremely lucky. Just a little rain and storms, not like our neighbors just a little north of us. :sad2: Everyone needs our prayers at this time.

Sister lives just north of Tennessee. She posted video of her land/yard and the flooding. This was done at around 11am today.

Just a warning~ for those easily offended she does swear a little in this video.

OP: They evacuated Opryland Hotel today(yest) due to the Cumberland River Flooding.. Might want to check into it...

Sounds like we got out just in time. My friend in town sent me a text last night and told me about the evacuation. I can't imagine what a massive undertaking that was. It was starting to get pretty crazy there when we left yesterday morning, but the staff was being very helpful. I hope everybody in Nashville stays safe!
