PLEASE help me. I want to buy points and stay in a DVC resort for our June vacation, my only hesitancy (and item needed to convince my husband) is the assurance that we will be able to purchase the dining plan. I have seen on the boards they will available for DVC members by our vacation time in June but is this just for DVC owners, or can we purchase too since we will be staying in a DVC resort? PLEASE help with this.

Not enough info has been released thus that you can be guaranteed of getting the Dining option. But even if the Dining plan is a good fit for you (it isn't for many), the savings you'd likely get by renting from a member would likely make up for not being able to get the DDP.

I completely agree, but my husband LOVES the plan and he would never allow me to book without knowing that for sure. Do you know when more info will be announced so I can be sure??

We're supposed to be able to start booking in January for travel in April. So, I would think all the details would be available in just a few weeks.

If you are staying in a DVC resort and booked it through CRO I am sure you can add the dining plan. Most likely it will require you to pay rack rate for your room and have to purchase tickets as well to add the dining.

If you are a DVC member I guess for trips starting in April if you are staying on points at a DVC resort (not sure about Disney collection) you can add the dining.

Like others have said, this is basically all the info we know right now.

Are you staying long enough to make an AP the ticket of choice?

If so, you will be eligible to buy the DDE (Disney Dining Experience) for $50. That gives you 20% off on meals and beverages (including alcoholic, which no other plan includes). The card lasts for a year (actually about 13 months), so you may be able to use it for more than one trip.

You only have to have one DDE (you'll actually get two cards), because one is good for up to 10 people at a meal. Therefore...only one person needs an AP.

Get one AP and the DDE, and you may find that a better bargain than buying the dining plan for each member of your party for the entire length of stay.

I'm confused....Are you "buying" a DVC contract or are you renting from an owner? If you are buying, then yes, you will be able to get the dining plan for a reservation next summer. If you are renting, there is no real way to know yet, because we can't even start reserving this until January 3. Perhaps a call to DVC would give you an answer.
