hi guys
well i'm in planning mode at the moment,we have decided to get married whilst on our hols to florida :cheer2: well i don't know if you all know but we were planning for 2007(because of moving house)well i've managed to convince dh that if i book it all seperatly we may still be able to afford to go next year :teeth: but going with virgin for the holiday and wedding was nearly £5000 (and that was just for virgin's basic wedding)and i really want a disney wedding  this is where i need to ask for your expertise, where do i start?

thanks eve ::MinnieMo

Hiya

Wow getting married in Disney. We wanted this, but only parents were able to go and we wanted Bruces parents there. So jelous lol.

First of all have a look at Virgin flydrive options, booking the hotel via Disney.co.uk. I would also ring them and ask them do they do wedding packages or perhaps Disney itself. Try the dream company on here aswell apparently you get a personal planner. For other cheaper flights try www.justtheflight.co.uk. I think Disney would be the best place to start by asking them can they book a package direct. We always book our holidays seperate i.e virgin flydrive, disney.co.uk for hotel and airline network for car.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you got on.

hi angel659
thank you for your reply you have given me somewhere to start :) when we are married it will only be me jeff and our 2 boys that will be attenting, my mum has disabillites and my dad just won't fly as for jeff's parents his mum would go but his dad won't fly so we will be opting for the intimate wedding and if anyone comes it will be a bonus :) i will def let you know how i am getting on

vernon, i have already posted on the wedding boards and got some good information from those guys :cheer2: i will be giong direct with disney for our wedding i just need to sort out our flights and hotel :cheer2:

thanks for your help eve ::MinnieMo

We got married at Disney in December 2000 at it was fantastic I would recommend it!!! I booked the wedding ceremony and three weeks at GF through BA although on reflection I wish I had booked it all myself!!

At the time the wedding package cost approx £2000 this included the ceremony at the wedding pavilion, the flowers for bride and groom I did not like the flowers they offered and sent a pic and they made them exactly as I wanted ,musician, cake, transport to the wedding pavilion and champagne reception - with 1 bottle of champagne (you could buy more for $45). At the time it said the wedding package only allowed 10 guests however we had approx 18 and there was no problem!

Additionally we had to pay for the wedding meal - The staff at GF arranged the wedding meal on the shores of the seven seas lagoon just in time for the fireworks - this was fantastic.

The wedding license - we had to go to the county courthouse for this but it was easy to arrange.

The video and photos - we used Wayne Lukin for the pics, they are expensive but very good quality!!

On arrival at the GF there was a wedding basket in our room the shape of a mickey head and full of goodies - picture frames, candles, sweets etc!! At the ceremony we got a wedding certificate signed by Minnie and Mickey and a set of disney collectors watches!!

If you want to see any pics or need any other info please PM me!! :teeth:

We got married at Disney's Polynesian Resort in November 2000 :) We booked it all through Unijet, but if I had my time again I would book direct with Disney in the end I got an email address for the FTW and dealt directly with them rather that going through Unijet :)

How exciting!!!

I'm ONLY getting married in WDW (luckily, my boyf agrees!) - would be wonderful if he proposed in December out there! (we're already going for my 21st birthday but a girl can't have too many suprises! ;) )

hi kaylee
the polynesian is one of the places we are looking at (well he fell in love with the place while eating at kona) did the running of the wedding run smoothly? i bet you had a magical day :lovestruc
i was going to ring disney directly because altough i want an intimate wedding i don't want to have to have the 4 night stay and 5 day passes because we will already be staying on site although i will have to see what they say  if i have to have the full package i will more than likely look into getting married else where because it's working out very expensive :earseek:

Sunset Pointe at the Poly was lovely :) PM me if you want to see any pictures.

Yes everything ran smoothly with FTW :)

You could always say you have annual passes already....

This all sounds really really romantic. :cloud9: :cloud9:

Maybe I should talk DH into renewing our vows out there next year for our 20th wedding anniversary and DS (7) and DD (5) could be the witnesses. Tho much as I can see how romantic that would be - don't think DH would agree. :goodvibes :goodvibes

We are getting married at Sunset Pointe in August. Since we are DVC members and have booked the accomodation seperately we are paying $2350 for a Intimate Wedding with Disney (plus any add ons).

Give Disney Weddings a call. They have been fantastic.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Oh, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Andy

I'm getting married at the swan hotel in november '05. Will it still be nice and disneyish?
I mean will it be warm and good weather?

Hi to everyone, this is my first post on these boards, although I have been reading them for a while!!!

I am getting married at WDW Swan on 11 October!!!!!!! Yes, only 8 weeks to go!!!!!We arranged our wedding through an independent company. Our wedding isn't officially a Disney wedding, but that doesn't matter to us, the fact that we are in WDW is enough for us!! We have done everything via e-mail and have even organised our marriage license before we go, as we didn't want to waste half a day of our theme park time!! We have got six family members going with us, so looking forward to sharing our day with them!

I would advise anyone who is thinking of getting married at WDW to go for it!! Have your special day in a special place!!!

We're getting married in November (15th) to at the Polynesian. - What dates are you in Disney?

Hopefully the weather will be warm - we went in November 2 years ago and had great weather and quiet parks which is why we picked november for the wedding. Plus it gets us out of the UK winter for 3 weeks :0)

All these weddings. I know someone who go married at Disney and they said the deparment that dealt with their wedding plans was excellent.

I'd love to get married out there, but my other half is highly unlikely to ever propose!!!

Sounds as though your making progress. I do hope it works out for you. We have stayed in All Star Sports and Movies. I love All Star Movies its relaxed and the atmosphere is great.

I hope they do vow packages over there I really wish I dug my heels and stuck with the orginal disney wedding, which we wanted. Instead I felt guilty. Doh! Never mind. I will wait till its our 10 year wedding anniversary ask for renweal of vows I cant wait till 25 years.

Good luck and congratulations
