We want to stay at The Grand California Hotel and then drive to Yosemite. How far is it and how many days to experience Yosemite. We are not hikers. Thanks
It is 305 miles, it will be about a 5-6 hour drive. It depends on many things. When are you going? You can drive around the park yourself, or they do have a tram that will take you around and show you things. You don't have to hike to see all the beauty around you. Hopefully with the El Nino this year the falls should really be good. But the drive up there is really winding. I don't enjoy heights. As for staying , it all depends on how much time you want to take and see things. But you won't be disappointed no matter how long you stay.
And to the dis. There may more people that can give you insight to how long you may want to stay and where. Me and DH went on bus with the church and we were there about 5 hours and enjoyed quite a bit from that.

Thanks. We are planning to go in June. I have been a DIS member for years but for some reason I could not log on. I had to start a new account. We have been DVC since 1998. I think I started planning this trip too late. There is no lodging available inside Yosemite.
Are you planning on staying outside the park or camping? I've rented equipment from REI many times with great success, and I've stayed outside the park at a lodge in El Portal.
