my hubby and i are looking into buy a new digital camera, and a seperate digital camcorder.

we have budgeted around $2000.00 for each. We are not going to spend over that about.

I have no clue even where to start looking for what i want.

I do kinda like the canon d20.

With that budget, get a Canon 30D with a Sigma 18-125 lens, battery grip, and cable shutter remote release.

Video Camera: get the Sony HDR-HC3. It's a high-definition camcorder.

If the budget is there, it's not going to compare against Sony HDR-HC3, which is true High Definition at 1080i instead of the regular 480i. It's more than double the resolution, not to mention the use of much larger sensor which yields to far better low-light performance AND a native 16:9 (widescreen) sensor.
