Okay, so here goes, it may be hard to follow as this is a complicated situation. We were there a week ago and booked a Bounce Back for next fall for 11 nights with free dining and 10 day Park Hoppers at POR. The CM said that we could upgrade to AP for a small amount once we got there if we wanted. (since it was FD I didn't even know this was possible to upgrade) Once I got home I began suffering from PDD (post Disney Depression). We then booked a shorter 5 day trip for this spring.(RO at the moment) Here is my question. Should I get AP for the spring trip? Can I alter a BB once it has been made? I know I have seen where people have booked the minimum tickets needed for FD (2 days?). Can you then use the money you paid on the unused tickets to go toward an AP for the next year? I can't afford to lose the FD as we will be there for 12 days, just trying to figure out the best way to do this. Thank you so much for your help!!!

Yes you can change the bounceback after you booked it.

Are you getting park hoppers? I did some quick math based on the ticket prices on Disney's site and if you bought a 5 day PH and a 10 day PH it comes to almost $800. But an AP with tax comes to $650! Plus you would get free parking (important if you're staying off site the first trip) If you were not planning on getting park hoppers then the price is even but with the AP you get to park hop anyway!

So if you're really planning on the 2 trips I think the AP is the way to go. Just call and reduce the # days on your 10 day package to the minimum for FD. Yes you can apply the ticket towards renewing your AP.

Thanks! I was coming up with similar numbers as well. I just was not sure how to add the tickets to the annual pass. since we are going in the spring without a package the tickets will be the fall tickets that I would want to add to the annual pass for the next year. Am I correct in assuming that as long as we don't use the tickets then they won't expire and tickets that have not expired can be applied to the annual pass?

I think what you would have to do is modify the bounce back, book May and purchase your APs. Then in the fall, you use your bounceback reservation, just don't use the park tickets. Since they are never used/activated, they don't expire and you would use them for a trip after your APs expire or apply the value of them to your AP renewal or a new AP. happy traveling!
