need help planning trip to disney

Me,my DM and DD are going may 28-june 3 2006. i didn't realize how hard it is to plan. what park to do first, where to eat, etc. my dd will be celebrating her 6th birthday on may 30th also. so i really would like to make that day extra special. does anyone have any suggestions or advice for me. i would really appreciate it. my dm is 64 so i need to make this trip as stress free as possible.

For DDs birthday and if your budget allows it, go to the Perfectly Princess Tea Party. Definately, consider the dining plan if you are looking into Character Meals. You might want to go pick up the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. When I planned our first trip to WDW, it gave me wonderful hints and tips. For less stress, stay on property and use their transportation. As for which park first, that is up to you. I purposely did not do MK first because my DD would have not wanted to leave or go to other parks. I would plan a day at every park. Take breaks durning the day or plan a late lunch so you can sit down and relax.

If your DD like Pooh, go to the Crystal Palace. The breakfast was great and the characters and staff were wonderful. Chef Mickey is a favorite of alot of visitors. Go to www.allearsnet.com. It has menus and listing of restaurants with and without characters.

Most of all RELAX when you get there and enjoy your vacation.

Hopesmommy has really good advice. I always started my WDW trips buying the official guide book months in advance. Then the kids and I would pour over it for months talking about what we wanted to do. It really helps build the anticipation and excitement for the trip.

I have always wanted to celebrate my birthday at Walt Disney World. I think first of all just being at WDW for your birthday is magical enough. But as your DD is turning 6, I suggest going to MK for the day. If you stop by Town Hall and tell them it's her birthday, they will give her a button to wear that says it's her birthday. I've read that the Cast members will make the birthday peoples day even more magical! Also, if you notify the hotel that you are staying at in advance they will send balloons or something special just for her. I've seen it done.
