Hey guys.

I'm truely struggling with planning our New York trip?

Can anyone give me any tips who's been how they planned their stay, did you section off Manhatten and do each section day by day?

Anyone visit with children that can recommend eateries?

We have initially reserved "Doubletree Hilton Suites in Times Square" as we are a family of 6 and need space but is Times Square a good base?

We have 4 1/2 days in total, think I need a week :scared:

Hi Anette,
Firstly, you lucky thing you. We had our second trip there last year (start of a 5 week trip) there was 6 of us, me wifey 3 kids plus our eldest friend. We stayed on east 39th street near united nations. We had 7 days, but like our first trip we didnt really plan day by day. The most pleasure we got was just ambling round. We made a list of what we wanted to see and do during the week but made our way round them on the day. Would recommend Staten island ferry, it is free and gives you stunning views of the skyline on the way back. Ellis island and liberty island are fantastic (by the way either before you go of after you get back watch Hitch with will smith). There is a beer garden at battery park worth a look and a cold glass of suds. Empire state is stunning, this year we went up around 6pm and stayed up for an hour or more to see lights gradually all come on. Bryant park is beautiful, free WiFi too, just crash there with your lunch on ghe large lawn and yr mp3 on fantastic. We saw Mary Poppins on broadway too, got the tickets from tkts at times square save 50% on box office.

Not sure if this helps there is so much to do it is the besg place we have ever been. We left there after a week and as we drove out of the city I said to my wife, bugger we still forgot to do ......... You could spend 2 weeks easy there.

But as I said at the start, just wandering round is fantastic, don't bother with cabs, just keep looking up.

Wall st, tiffanys, 911 memorial, Macys, moma, Bloomingdales, central park, fifth avenue, the waldorf astoria, united nations, Madison sq gardens, radio city music hall, the rockafeller centre, little Italy, Chinatown, Washington sq park.

Ok, thats it, we gonns start there again this year too now. Thanks ha ha

Please ask i will try to help

Oh yes, bubba Gumps restaurant at times square, the kids all loved it. One thing I would really stress, we were walking at least 12 hours a day. A good pair of adidas is a must.
