Hi,
Need someone advice and experience........Planning my family disney vacation looking for the first time to stay off property maybe to save some money...What hotel's around disney and universal are not to pricey but very clean???Looking for something that's family friendly....
We are a family of four dh, ds's ages 7 and 13....We are looking into going for December 4 to the 9 or 10, not sure yet.....

If you are planning on staying for 7 nights, try Skyauction for a condo.
As far as hotels, I think the Sheraton Safari near down town Disney is a decent one. Also the 3 (Marriott, Fairfield & Summerfield) over in Little Lake Bryan area are nice. Over by Universal, I like the Wyndham Orlando. May people have given that a bad review lately, last time I stayed there was about 2 years ago, so I don't know what it is like now. Sometimes with codes from Disney, it is cheaper to stay at one of the values than it is to stay offsite. Many offsite places charge a "resort" fee & when you add that to your room it can add up. If you have an AP, the begining of December is usually an easy time to get an AP rate (and as low as $49 which is cheaper than offsite).

Homewood Suites in Kissimmee off of 192 is really nice for a family. Had 2 full beds in one room and a pull out couch bed in the living area. Close to Disney. I had a 1 bedroom Suite with a kitchenette. I got a really good deal of about $79 a night and this was in the middle of July! They also serve a "Continential" Breakfast. I don't call it a Continential but they do. They had eggs, bacon, toast, bagels, cold cereal, juices, coffee etc. for free each morning. M-thur they had a Manager's Reception. I only attended 1 night but they served Beef Stew. Really good. FOR FREE! Plus free beer/wine and soft drinks. Keep a look out!

Also I don't know if you've every gone to www.hotwire.com but they had some good deals to. The only thing is that you have to pay up front and you don't know the name of the hotel until you pay. You can choose your area (i.e. kissimmee, disney area etc. ) and check out the star rating. They will tell you the amenties at the property and the rate per night. I booked with them for a room for 1 night only (because I arrived a day earlier than I orginally planned) I ended up at the Renaissance World Gate Hotel . Very nice rooms and I only paid about $79-89 for the night. Could've stayed their the remainder of my trip if I didn't move on to the Best Western at Downtown Disney. Hope this helps!
