ok, we are going october 11 - 15th and I need help planning extras...

anyone have suggestions of must do's... we have gone on lots of trips, this time I am divorced single mom and looking to make the trip spectacular for the first trip without the ex.. my kids are 8,5 and 3!

edited to add - does anyone know if they still do fantasmic preffered seating?

Lori

ok, so I am replying to myself.. lol
called about fantasmic seating..
wow $59 for adult and $49 for kids..
has anyone done this... is it worth it?
Lori

We did and DD7 loved it also. We will be doing it again on our next trip. Also there is Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for the girls. If you jsut get the hair it's not too bad- $40ish.
SInce you are staying at PP, Disney vacation planners has gift goodies they can deliver to your room. WE are having Mickey cookies and milk delivered one night

Hi! I will also be at PPH without DH Oct. 11 - 15 with my 9 yr old son celebrating his 10th birthday. I think I read somewhere that Fantasmic will be down the dates we are there. By any chance, did you also get the great Expedia rate?

They have a Build a Bear at Downtown Disney, which is a favorite of my girls. :goodvibes

Maybe a character meal? I have two girls, so they love Ariel's Grotto.

Well, this is how I justify the F! seating: I go with my kids alone to DLR a few times a year..... There is no way I could get the kids to camp out with me while we wait for the show and since we are on vacation TOGETHER, I don't like the idea of them doing rides while I sit around alone...LOL.:rotfl: That defeats the purpose of us having a special vacation bonding time...

So, on the night that we have F! seating, we do not go out to eat for dinner and just have a light late lunch. There is plenty of food in the box for the kids and heck, I can use a low calorie day at DLR....;) it won't hurt me.

It just makes it easier for me. We love the F! show. It is one of our favorites. When we meet some of our elderly relatives at DLR, it also makes it much easier than expecting them to sit on the ground waiting for the show.

hth. Have fun together.:goodvibes

you know that was my thought.... I called and they said they get a drink and a snack. what did they give you in the box?

Here are a few free options to make the trip special....

1. Go to the Main Street Station for the Disneyland Railroad. Ask a CM if it is possible for your older child(ren) to ride tinder. If it is available, they will be able to ride with the engineers and learn how the train works.

2. When boarding Mark Twain, ask if the kids can help pilot the boat. They will be allowed to go up to the top and help drive the boat. They also get to ring the bell, sign a special guest book, and will receive a certificate.

3. Ask at City Hall if the Lilly Belle is running. This is a special car on the Disneyland Railroad.

I'm sure there is more - I'll post if my addled brain remembers! :lmao:

You may want to check with the hotel as well. Sometimes they have special activities for guests. I know at GCH, there is a scavenger hunt, story time, etc.

Have a wonderful time!

Well, we haven't gone yet this summer, so others can probably tell you more accurately what is in the box. The last time we went was around January/February and there were 3 bonnie bell cheese balls, a cheddar cheese pack, crackers, a small bunch of grapes, 1 chocolate dipped strawberry , a mini key lime tart and some other wrapped chocolate truffles, and maybe 2 more mini desserts (I think one was a cheesecake type dessert). As you can see, that box holds two days worth of calories for someone of my height...:rotfl::rotfl:

Then, there was unlimited drinks. So, it was cold and the kids had hot chocolates and each took a water when it was done too. It is a very generous amount of food. Hopefully it is still the same.

thank you
Lori

The milk and cookies are somewhat spendy- 2 chocoalte dipped mickey shortbreads and a carafe of milk for $18. I don' drink milk so I am just ordereing an extra cookie ($5) so we will each have a cookie at bed time

F! dessert box has so much in it that we had to take most of it back to the hotel and eat it over a few days. There is also a pretty raspberry filled shortbread cookie that is purple with gold stars. Also a stick of Monterrey Jack cheese as well

I ordered cookies like that one time and it was the neatest thing. We came back to the room after a LONG day, like around 11 and that is really, really late for my kiddos, especially since they wake up with the sun at DLR. They were so excited to 1. eat sweets right before bed and 2. eat them in bed. :) Never get to do that at home. LOL.

I really think I am going to do this for the kids :)
