DH and I are bring our friends (another couple :wizard: ) to WDW in January and I want to make sure they will have a great time. So, I need your help planning the trip.
One of them LOVES Tinker Bell and want to meet all of the other characters, he is also a picky eater who only eat like plain meat and potato type food (nothing with bone attached). DH only eats veggies and seafood (organic stuffs perfered). Me and my other friend like to try different things and we'd love to eat anything.
All 3 of them don't want to go to Epcot (don't ask me why) and we all agree to keep the budget low. We are going for 5 days and staying at SSR, we are going to just 3 parks and we are going to have the regular DDP.
I want to book resturants where we will be warmly received.

Any suggestions? Any tips to make the trip gayer? :rotfl2:

:welcome: and hello!

The Judge's Tent in Mickey's Toontown Fair at the MK is a great place to meet characters, and they have a new Pixie Hollow section with Tink's friends. You'll have to visit there for sure :thumbsup2

As for food, all restaurants on Disney property tend to have a good variety of food, including a vegetarian item :)

And as to the 3 parks, don't forget it's only $7 and tax to go from a 3 day ticket to a 4 day :goodvibes

Our friends has 3 days left on their non-expired tickets from years ago. I don't think they can upgrade them after the first 14 days right? I am thinking 50's Prime Cafe and Cinderella's Gala Feast 1900 Park Fare, both 1 TS credit and interactive. I am just wonder how the characters react to a table of 4 grown men. Will it be less fun without kids?

No! The characters are great when there are no kids around. My wife and I have always had excellent interaction with the characters. Actually, sometimes moreso than when kids are present.

Food wise, pop over to Allears and check the menus. You'll get a feel for what is out there. Columbia Harbor House in MK (counterservice) has some nice alternatives to greasy burgers and those silly hot dog things that everyone gets so gaga about. ;)

If you do table service you can call ahead and request vegetarian options. As our ConcKahuna has said, there is almost always an option, but if you call ahead you can have something specially prepared for you. Don't hesitate to ask at buffets either. I've seen both Boma and Cape May do special dishes for folks who could not (or would not?) eat from the regular buffet.

You are going to have a wonderful time. EPCOT is our favorite park, so I'm a little shocked that you are going there, but hey! That's us and not you.

Enjoy every minute of your WDW visit!

I know! I love Epcot and they have all the food options there!! But since my friends doesn't like Epcot I will have to go with the group. On the day we are going to DHS I can't find any good CS place for lunch. I am thinking maybe pay OOP for lunch at 50's Prime Time or Brown Derby. And after the park (closes at 7) take the boat to Broadway and have dinner at Spoodle. Which one is a better choice for lunch - 50's or BD?

Two entire different beasts! 50's is fun, but the food is more like Mom's kitchen, but I'm sure they could accommodate your needs. If you look for fun and laughs, I would go here.

If you are looking for high end "Hollywood" I would go with the BD! Nobody can do the Cobb Salad like they can, and the grapefruit cake is great! The food is more upscale, and I'm sure the chefs are more prepared there to accommodate any special requests you may have. Both of the menus are online.

If you are staying at SSR, I would recommend the Turf Club, they have a pretty varied menu, and it's right at your resort.

And if you really want to meet Tink, head to Toontown as soon as the park opens! This meet and greet is new, and the lines get up to 45 minutes soon after the park opens!

Good Luck!

I'll second that recommendation! We're locals and we eat at the Turf Club about once a month. The food is excellent and the service is very good. We've never had a bad experience there. It's definitley a "hidden gem" in WDW dining options.

So many good places to eat, so little time!!
We will be arriving MCO on Jan 24th around 11:30am, maybe we can have lunch at Turf Club once we arrive SSR and then do some shopping Downtown until the rooms are ready.

Any other suggestions on what to do on the first day of arrival? We are not going to the park that day for sure.

Hey rpmdfw! our friends/neighbors has three of those same breed of dog in your picture.(What the name again?)
They are so cute!!
