Hi Dis members, long time no see ;).

Anyways, I'm planning a 4 day trip to California for the BPA National Conference. We have already planned a couple of days so far, but need help on the rest. Were staying at the Hilton Anaheim, and we'll be renting a car.

Wednesday - Flight in to LAX from Midway (Chicago) + Spend the day at LA, Be back at hotel around 5ish (our flight comes in around 10ish am Cali Time.)
-Are there any must-eat restaurants?
-Activities? Free or Cost?
-Must-sees?

Thursday - (were shaky on this but..) Universal Studios from 10 am till 3 pm, then Knotts Berry Farm from 4 pm till 8pm.

Friday - ( our BPA Competitios) Not sure what do in the night? Around 5ish.
-Beaches? Activities?
-Maybe Santa Monica Pier?

Saturday - The group is splitting up, but I'm going to DLR and DCA with one of the Chaperones.
-How many hours will it take to complete both parks?

Any input is great!

Thanks.

A couple of thoughts: The Universal and Knott's day may be a little much to cram into one day, especially with weekday traffic as a potential problem.

Also DLR and DCA on Saturday may be much more crowded than on a weekday. Is there any flexibility with which days you can go to DLR/ DCA?Which month is the conference?

As far as restaurants, what type of budget, and what kind of food are you interested in?

Yeah, I was thinking about the Universal and Knotts being a little bit too much, but we only have a certain amount of time down in California. The conference is in May.

DLR and DCA could either be on Saturday or Thursday (it would move Universal to Saturday if we put it as Thursday, and I'm thinking about getting a 2 Day Park Hopper, but totally not sure yet).

Budget - Is about $10-15 per meal, and pretty much anything is interesting and something locals enjoy!

I heard the Farmers Market is a MUST SEE! So, were thinking about eating there on Wednesday.

Thanks.

If you could do DL / DCA on a Thursday, you could go on a lot more rides than on a Saturday. The difference in crowds between a weekday and weekend in May is huge. I like the idea of a 2 day park hopper.

In addition, if you were to do Universal on a Saturday, you could avoid the weekday traffic, which could be horrid from Anaheim to Universal. Universal on a Saturday in May may not be that bad- just get there right at opening and hit the major rides (or the tram) first.

If you're considering going to Santa Monica, Wednesday would be a great day to do it, as the Pier and the 3rd Street Promenade (shops) are only a few minutes north of the LA Airport. Theres a street called Sepulveda which runs next to the airport- if you go north on this street, it'll lead you right into Santa Monica.
