DH and myself are going in Feb for 5 nights. First time without the kids and staying on site. We are thinking of POR or POFQ. We don't need a pool and don't want the hassle of a big resort. Any help if these are good picks and which one would be the best? Also, where to stay at the one chosen? Thanks

POFQ is smaller than POR. I think Building 5 is a good location there.

I second this recommendation. I stayed in Bldg. 5 in Sept and it was quiet but still very close to food court, boat launch etc..

I prefer POR over POFQ, but for the information you gave, POFQ is the obvious choice. Much smaller and only the one pool. You can always walk over to POR for the Piano man, and Boatwrights (sit-down).

They're both awesome.

POFQ gets my vote too. We stayed in Bldg 3 and it was close to everything. I think ALL the buildings are close to everything. The ones closest to the water may be nice as, they are not far from anything, but have the water right there. Don't know if they have WATER view, but sitting by the pool and looking out at the water (river) was nice. Plus hopping the boat to DD is fun to do without the kiddies. It is just a short stroll over to POR and the "sit down restaurant".

You will love POFQ!

We just stayed at POR and they get my vote. WE LOVED IT. The rooms were nice and quiet. We had a pool all to ourselves. The kids all hung out at the big one, so the small pools were empty. Boatwrights has great pancakes, you can take carriage rides and boat rides(both for a fee). We had drinks in the lounge area(sofas and a fireplace). My DH says he really wants to stay there again. We walked over to POFQ and it seemed very nice also. Smaller and more festive. It has the mardi gras theme. There seemed to be more people and noise there but that could be cause they were lumped around the pool area. You just have to figure out whats best for you and your family. I am sure you would love either one. :goodvibes

POFQ is our personal mod favorite!

POFQ is pretty and quaint! I love the New Orleans flair with the black wrought railings, gates, and courtyard gardens... the brick streets flanked with black wrought iron lamp posts...the beautiful grounds and stately buildings...I love the room decor - shades of robin's egg blue, pale yellows and the greens...dark, traditional furniture and high beds...ahhh!

I love that it's small and no matter where you are, it's not far!

It's a peaceful and relaxing resort and I don't think you would be disappointed. :earsgirl:

POFQ is the only mod I've ever stayed at & I loved it. We're returning there 4/06 and it really is attractive, comfortable & quiet. Hope you have a great time wherever you decide to stay. :wave2:

If you are looking for a resort that is smaller in size, I have to say go with POFQ. We stayed there a few years back and really loved it. Request a room somewhere between the food court and the bus stop.
