Need help on where to start!

Dh and I are the planners for our upcoming trip to disney. We are going with most of my dh's family and there will be 4 generations of us going. I am new to this design site and loving it already. We thought it would be great to make some shirts for our family and surprise them with them on our trip. I have no idea how to do them though . If someone could get me started that would be great. Do I just print out the designs I find? Any certain size and what about the transfer papers? I need all the help you can give me!! Thanks so much!!

If you see a design you like you can save it to your computer and print it on transfer paper. Then just iron it on a shirt. The designers on the board will customize a design for you if you ask; like with your family name or dates. Theres a ton of stuff to look at. Have fun planning.

Also, you will have to buy the transfer paper, they come in sheets of 5 or 6 to a pack. I buy mine in Walmart. The directions are on the package. Also, you will need to decide what color shirts you want to iron the transfers on. White or light colored shirts will need the white transfer sheets...if you have writing on them, you will need to mirror image the design. I have just finished the last of my 21 shirts and I will leave in August, but it is addicting Ask ANY type of question and someone on this board will have an answer Also, just as a BIG reminder, the shirts need washed first, NO fabric softner...When I wash mine, I turn them inside out and line dry Just to be on the safe side and get the most use out of them.. Thanks to the OP for asking how to do these AWESOME shirts! I have what is probably a dumb question. How do you "mirror" the design? I understand why you do it, but I'm not sure how you do it.

When you get ready to print--go to printing preferences-- then go to advance-- then when the box drops down there will be many choices of items to check, go down to near the bottom of this drop down box and you will see Printing features-- click on the "mirror image" box--click yes--click on ok-- continue following prompts to print--also, be sure to select the correct type of paper to print on--mine says hp transfer paper.

Also check jiffyshirts.com - I wish I had gone there first! I paid around $2 for each Hanes Beefy T that I got! I ended up making extra shirts once I found that website! Thank you to whoever suggested it!

Another way to mirror the image in in Paint. I open my design (I save to My Pictures) and then go to Paint and then go to Image and choose Reverse Image.
