I've been working for 15 years, you'd think I'd have this down by now!

I'm applying for a seasonal job at Barnes and Noble, part time evenings and weekends in addition to my 9-5 full time job. On the application it only has 3 spaces to put current/previous employers. My problem is that my only retail experiance was 4 jobs ago. The application also said to keep the jobs in order and to leave no time unaccounted for.

So, if I replace one of my other jobs with my retail job, I'll have unaccounted time. If I leave the retail job off, it will look like I don't have retail experiance, when in fact I have 2 1/2 years worth.

The only thing I can think of is to make a photo copy of the application and put in my retail job on that page and staple them together, but that doesn't look very profesional.

Any experts out there with any suggestions on what I should do?

Does it have some other place to note applicable experience?

Attach a resume where you can list your past jobs including the retail experience.

Just a place for high schoolers/college students to put down extra-ciricular activities and outside interests.

I had two votes for attaching a resume. Anyone else? :)

Attach the resume. My husband actually picked up a seasonal job at Discovery Store by walking in, asking for an application and talking with the manager. I think the manager ended up just taking his resume w/o DH ever even filling out the application.

Attach the resume. But if the main reason for attaching it is to highlight job skills, list those in a bullet format at the top, don't make them wade through all of your personal info first or they might not read it all the way to the bottom.

Good luck!

I can do that. I'll put the jobs first in reverse order so the retail job shows first, and I can put the personal info at the bottom.

Thanks, everyone! :wave2:

hey that's where I work!! people attach resumes to those apps all the time, no big deal. My only advice is to not expect and write down a super high wage and be nice to the person at cashwrap when you give it to them!! good luck!!!!
