Need Help - Got a pin finally! but there is a hiccup

HELP!​

Ok, my fiance and I JUST got a pin in the mail today (our first ever), and when I called to apply the pin to our reservation, I hit a brick wall.

Our existing reservation is for a stay at Port Orleans French Quarter, king bed, from 10/11 thru 10/17, and includes DDP and park tickets (this is our honeymoon and double beds do not sound right )

The pin we got is 30%/35%/40% off resort only, which can be applied to the reservation.

Here is the brick wall. They can apply the reservation, but we lose the king bed guarantee as there are no king rooms at that time to apply the reservation to! We would be getting the Standard 2 double bed room, but we wanted the King Room.

Any ideas or thoughts

If you really want the king bed then I would leave my exsisting ressie and continue to try to have the PIN applied. Sometimes it's as simple as just calling a bunch of times. You have to decide what the priority is...the king bed or the discount. How about changing resorts? That might get you both the king and the PIN.

That is where we are at right now, leaving the existing res. in place and trying again tomorrow.

As for changing resorts, we both have come to like POFQ and would like to spend our honeymoon at that resort if at all possible

Not sure if this will work, but maybe you could try calling PO directly.

I dont know for sure but a king bed is not guaranteed anyway is it? Of course I have been wrong before

Have the pin applied and put a special request for a king bed, with the understanding that this is your honeymoon. Most resorts will try to honor your request.

When booking they always tell you there's no guarantee or it's not available, they specificity do this so at check-in there aren't a lot of upset guest, but I've found at the resort they can usually work thing out.

Congratulations on your up-coming Wedding and don't fret, everything will work out. Think positive! Sugar, spice and a smile can go a long way.

On certain rooms, you can pay like $100 -$200 more to be guaranteed a king sized bed in the room instead of doubles. I thought about "downgrading" and requesting it as a special request, but I thought it might go on deaf ears since they do offer the ability to purchase a king room at a higher price

You are going to want a king bed for your HM so I would just keep trying and hope that something opens up ... unless you want to risk not having a king bed.

You may also consider upgrading to the WL (I like POFQ and love WL too) or another deluxe as a special treat since it is your honeymoon and you go the 40% off code!

Well, we thought about it and took the plunge and did what you suggested, as we were talking about that last night too. We upgraded using the pin code, and got a WL Woods view room, with a request for the Northside so we can see the park at night from the Balcony
