I posted this on the transportation board but I thought I would post it here as well as I know this board gets a little more traffic!!

I arrive in Orlando on Sunday at 8:00 AM. I had a private car set up to take me right to MK to meet up with family that is arriving earlier. The company just called and cancelled my transfer due to the marathon. They said they won't drive to WDW that morning and no one else will either?? They said even the cabs will be stuck in marathon traffic. I'm wondering what to do?? I'm trying to get to MK as quickly as possible. I have a reservation at AoA so I could use ME but I don't want to have to go to AoA first. Could I use ME for a resort I am not booked at--take it to the CR?? Any other ideas?? TIA!!! :)

Traffic will be awful on Sunday for everyone, due to the marathon. Expect to sit and wait.

Traffic is always crazy in the areas that are close to the marathon route! You may very well have to alter your MK arrival and get there a bit later than you hoped to. You could cut your time by taking a car service to your resort and then getting right on the MK bus. But be aware....even the resort buses are going to be hung up a bit as well.

Living in NYC and dealing with traffic all too many times, I've found that sometimes when you try to find a faster, better route you end up wasting more time (and money) then just taking the straight route that is due for delays.

I would take ME..as PP said everyone will be stuck in same traffic so why pay extra on a ticking meter or for a car service when you can be on ME watching silly Mickey cartoons.

As I say, it doesn't hurt to ask so when boarding ME ask if you can get on the CR bus instead of AoA as you need to get to MK as soon as you arrive - the worst they can say is "No", but I've found that many time simple requests, nicely asked are granted. What difference does what ME you take - you're entitled to ME since you are staying on property and unlike ME that takes you back to airport , there are no reserved times for ME at the airport...it's just fill and go...and if you have to go to AoA you can always catch a cab from the resort to MK to save time waiting for buses...

Good luck!
