I'm looking for a little help from those owners with more than one home resort.
Been a member since 93 at OKW only, but will definitely do an add on at BLT. I know, I'm assuming that it will be DVC, and I know what happens when you assume. That being said, I'm looking for some feed back on the following:
1) How hard is it to manage multiple Home Resorts?

2)When you make reservations, do you have to tell MS which points you are
using when you're inside the seven mouth window?

3) Is it easy to work with MS when banking on one contract, while borrowing
on another?

4) Any other feedback that would be helpful.
Thanks, :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

1. Not really hard. You just need to keep track of what you are doing with points from each resort (it is in fact something you will want to know and thus will do it).

2. You should tell them which points you want to use. Otherwise they may just charge to main contract first if there are any points in it.

3. If you mean banking one resort points while borrowing on another, I cannot answer for borrow because I have never done so, but banking has been easy.

We haven't had any issues with any of the things you mentioned. SWe do keep a seperate spreadsheet for each resort though, and I always check to make sure MS is using the correct points for a reservation. Of course, I don't usually have too much to worry about, since I am usually using current resort's points at the 11 month booking window...They can't likely make a mistake there!

It's fairly easy if all of your contracts have the same Use Year and are under a single membership number.

We manage it here with 3 different contract numbers and owning at 4 different DVC resorts. Takes a bit of organization, but has never given us any problems.

Since we have more than 1 "subcontract" at 4 of the resorts we own at, I do make sure that MS uses up the current points for any resort before they borrow. It has happened to me once that MS thought I had to borrow, but there were the needed points in a different small contract. It is a little inconvenient to have to click on to each to see just how many VWL points we have in a particular UY. The total number of points is given, easily visible for each UY, but, the number at each resort has to be gotten individually from the individual contracts.

We have two different master contracts for three different resorts. To me, the most valuable tool for keeping track of all of this is Caskbill's DVC Tracker. :surfweb: It excels at managing contracts. I usually enter any plans there first and tweak it until I arrive at the point usage that I want. Then I call MS and make sure my reservation points get allocated the way DVC Tracker shows it. Afterwards, I log on to confirm and make sure the MS information matches what I have in DVC Tracker. :thumbsup2

It sounds more complicated than it is, since the DVC Tracker program does a lot of the work for you. :teacher:

And no, I don't work for Caskbill! :) I just really appreciate the great program he's written! :worship:

Once I mastered the whole point thing-banking, borrowing, etc., I was fine. We own at three resorts with two different use years. I keep a running tab of what I'm doing and it works out fine. When you make a reservation, they will ask you which points you want to use (first, if your reservation uses more points than one contract) So far, MS and I have always agreed. :)
