Need help from those who live along/near I-95

If you live along or near I-95 between NC and the mouse house, I'm hoping you can help me. I need some "on the ground reports" about the gas situation.
We have to make a decision whether to go to WDW next week or not and we need to decide by this weekend to get our deposit back.

So, do the stations along I95 have gas? Is the supply reliable? If so, how much are they charging per gallon? In my area of NC we still have a lot of stations with no gas, some rationing, and spotty availability. Most of ours is hovering around $4.20/gallon. If it's like this everywhere, I don't think we'll go. I need gas, not diesel.

We live 10 min off I-95 in SC and about 35 min for the GA/SC state line. Gas here is around $3.80. There were a few spot without regular a week or so ago but never completely out all together. Everything her is a pretty much normal. I cross over exit 33 in Point South every morning going to or coming from work, I have not seen any long lines or blocked off gas pumps.

I live off I-95 in Melbourne, FL. Gas here is plentiful. It is going for around 3.75 per gallon. Haven't seen any shortages. It can vary greatly along I-95 though.

I live near Raleigh (i.e. mid-state, 15-20mi from I-95) and our gas is $3.79 with no limits. It may be a touch higher closer to the interstate, but not likely much.

Edit: Here is a great resource for you, it is a color-coded, dynamic map of gas prices for the whole US. You can actually zoom in enough to see actual prices at individual stations, and can grab the map to scroll along your route. According to this site, the big concern is to fill up before hitting GA! Though filling in VA before hitting NC might be a good idea as well.

Jacksonville has plenty of gas and will probably be your half way point anyway. You can go 9A around Jax now which will save you some time. It dumps you on 95 way south of downtown now.

I just returned from Disney and I'm from NC. NO gas problem until we arrived in SC. The price was running about $3.99 until SC where it was higher.

No gas problem 6 days ago when we came home.

Thanks. Good luck to you, too. And thanks to all who've answered my question. It looks like the trip is a go. Thanks for the map link, Shan-man. That helps a lot. I'll definitely avoid GA for the prices alone.

Technically, we can make it all the way to WDW on one tank IF there are no traffic jams/construction slowdowns and we take it slow and steady and we don't run the generator to nuke lunch or anything. We'd be on fumes as we lumbered into the Hess on property, but we could make it. That's a lot of if's, so we usually stop before/around Jacksonville to fill up. If it looks like we're running low or it's "one of those days on I-95", I'll hit someplace in SC to top up before entering GA and the land of the expensive stuff.

9a is a new bypass that goes east of Jax and looks considerably shorter than 290 and will, hopefully, bypass Jax traffic.

Jim, 9A is much better than coming down 295 now. Right after you pass the airport exit you'll see the 9A South exit. 9A will take you over the St. Johns as well as the other routes and dumps you back on I-95 S in the same vicinity as 295 which is past some of the worst exits we have IMO. When coming back you just get on 9A North. FYI, there's a nice rest area on 95 just south of where you get back on from 9A just in case you might have a dog to walk or something. There's also a Pilot and TA Truck Stop just south of there where diesel was $3.99 this morning.

They're building a huge flyover system at Butler Blvd. that caused a ton of problems last year but it's getting nice now. I live about a mile from the flyover and it's so nice that it's almost done.

I don't know the current status, but, there is a Wal-mart with gas on Ga40 at Kingsland, Ga. They usually have cheap gas, as does the Pilot at US17 at Bruswick (the road to Jekyll Island).

There is a Wal-mart and a Sams at the Pooler Parkway exit. That might also be a good place to stop.

You might also check Richmond Hill, at US 17. They usually run cheaper than anywhere on I-95.

I just got gas yesterday at a exxon for 3.49 in NJ so looks like we are running a bit less seen some that have been cheaper we have raceways and other less known names around here that run cheaper some times even hess here runs cheaper i have seen 20-25 cents difference 5-10 min away from each other
