We will have 1 day (Monday) at BG in late June. I plan on being there for the 9am opening but we need to leave by 4pm. We are DH, DD20 and me and we all love roller coasters! My DH likes to sit down to a full service meal at lunch but I wanted to make sure we had time for that. Will we be able to hit most everything in a 7 hour period and have time for a sit down lunch?

TIA!

I don't think youl'll be able to do most everything. We visited for four days in January, and we were there from opening until closing each day. Actually we were there later than closing each day because we always lingered around the entrance area (which stays open later than posted closing time) for dessert and shopping. On the first day we only visited Nairobi and Crown Colony/Egypt. On the second day we only visited Morocco, The Bird Gardens, and Stanleyville. On the third day we visited The Congo, Timbuktu, and we did a a few things we experienced already. It wasn't until the fourth day that we really started repeating things, but even on that day we saw for the first time Pirates 4D and rode the Carousel. We loved having time to see all the animals at our leisure and ride a ride or see a show two or three times if we wanted. We never did anything more than two or three times, and four days worked out perfectly for us. I would pick and choose what your family enjoys the most and make the best of that in your limited time. For us it was the shows, animals, and restaurants that were most important, although we enjoyed everything else including the great coasters. For you, the coasters may be more important than anything else. I do highly recommend making time for KaTonga, a magnificent theatrical show.

Thanks for the response. I thought that might be the case, but that's all the time we have. I guess we'll do a quick counter service instead of a sit down for lunch.

Thanks again!

At Busch Gardens Africa, don't feel like you have to "settle" for a counter-service restaurant. The food is far and above most anything you'll find at counter-service restaurants at other parks. Zambia Smokehouse and The Desert Grill have incredible food and many options. If you want to eat at the Crown Colony House, you could choose the counter-service option if it saves you time. The food options there are more limited than other restaurants in the park, but the hot roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes is very good and very large, and you can eat on the patio with views overlooking the Serengeti Plain where the giraffes, zebras, and other animals will likely be roaming.

you'll be able to get all the rollercoasters done and a sit down meal, i dont think you would get any shows done thou

When the original poster asked if they could "get everything done" by 4pm I thought they meant all park attractions, not just coasters. If you're truly only interested in coasters, then yes, you could ride all of them...but there is so much more in the park to see, do, and experience. It would be a shame to visit and not take time to explore at least some other aspects of the park such as the wonderful animal exhibits and the great shows.

late June Monday... hmm, theoretically you could do most if not all of the coasters.. and still get a sit down meal in. Depends on how many students celebrate summer that day.

You could give it a try at least, Jungala will be open by then too so most crowds will end up there but may be something to see between SheiKra and Kumba
