Need Help for dec for 3 groups,

I am attempting to plan a dec 16-19 trip for myself, dh, 2 teenage boys to stay at PPH. My dd,sil and gd2 , and my ds and girlfriend at the Park vue Inn. Seperate rooms, as well as my ds & gf flying in. This is a huge event for myself, as i was never able to take my 2 older children to disneyland.It is our 20th anniverary AND my gd's 3rd birthday celebration, as well as our Christmas gifts.
I want to book my room asap with Costco and if a pin code or special becomes available later, adjust accordingly. However I am wondering if I should purchase an ap for myself to help offset some costs while we are there, and hope for some ap room discounts? I will want to plan some character meals, and such and figure it could pay for itself. What are your thoughts? Tia!

If you are paying for all of the onsite rooms and all of the rooms for everyone, it's a possible savings. It really depends on how much you plan to spend on the trip. What I'd do is check http://www.allears.net to get an idea of how much I'd spend on food and see if the food discount (found at http://disneyland.disney.go.com/passes/discounts/) would offset the cost. You can also factor in any tours and/or merchandise you plan to purchase. As far as room discounts, those likely won't be announced until much later in the year.
