Do you mean for your signature?

I just made a new one today!

Follow the directions to create a ticker (choose a background, choose a pointer, set dates). Then it will give you a code to add to your signature. You get there by clicking on your name near inbox & alerts and then choosing signature along the side. Paste the code. I usually choose preview just to check it. Last, choose "save changes".

You chose the wrong code - you need to choose the one labeled PseudoHTML, UBBCode™ or BBCode.
