Need Help For August Reservation- First Timer

Hey everyone,
We are going down to disney from August 25th to September 1st and wanted to stay in the epcot area. Our home resort is SSR. However, our family is coming down for a few days and is staying at the dolphin so we wanted to stay in that area. When we called two days ago they had boardwalk available and when I called today she HAD NOTHING. So what are my chances of getting a room at BWV when I am on the waitlist. Can I request a waitlist for beach club also? The CM made it seem like I could only request BWV waitlist for a preferred view because standard views are very rare at BWV. We did book Saratoga just in case but I am confused that BWV and BCV have no rooms at that time when that is usually a slower time.

You probably have a better shot at BWV then BCV just based on size and still have a shot at a roomso do not despair. The booking window for BWV opened up 2 months ago for non BWV/BCVowners so unfortunately you had people in front of you.

Also what size room are you trying for? ANd if two days ago there was availablity I would guess you have a great shot!

If the CM discouraged you from waitlisting for the standard views, it probably means there is already a long waitlist for that room type and your chances are slim to none. If a particular waitlist gets too long, the CMs will not add anyone else to it. But aside from that, you can waitlist for any or all of the DVC resorts at the same time if that's what you want to do.

I agree with Jodie - if there was availability at the BWV just two days ago, your chances of getting something there (PV -Pool/Garden) via the waitlist are pretty good.

FWIW, late August/early September may be a slower time for WDW, but that doesn't mean there will be availability at the smaller DVC resorts at 5 months out. It's getting a lot more difficult to book the smaller resorts at 7 months, no matter what time of the year you visit, and if you get something closer to arrival than that without waitlisting, you can consider yourself fortunate.
