I need the small individual tubs of butter like you see at restaurants to use for my daughter's wedding reception. We thought for sure that Sams or Costco would have them, but they don't. I'm getting desperate! Does anyone know where I can get these? I need them by August 7th!! HELP!!:headache:

I know you can get them at restaurant supply stores. Not sure where you are from, but we have Johnnies Restaurant & Supply and anyone can buy from them. There is also Blackburn & Russell. You may be able to buy them online or ask at a restaurant, they might sell you some or order them for you.

I know you said you said you checked Costco and Sam's Club, but I'm certain I've seen them at one of those stores (I've had memberships to both). One thing I noticed is that sometimes they carry things, then they wont for a while, then they will again. I would check different locations. I can't think of anywhere else to get them. Good luck

I also wanted to add: I know this might be too much since you probably need a lot, but I have taken butter and whipped it, then put it into an icing bag with a cute tip on it and made my own. I just squeezed small to medium sized star shapes onto waxed paper and froze them. They came out really cute. You can serve them in a bowl, or on plates in the center of the table. You can get a little metal tong for people to use to get them. Just an idea. They really do come out fancey and cute.

Restaurant food supply outlets carry them. Have any of these near you?

We just bought several boxes of them on Friday for a swim meet concessions over the weekend. We buy them weekly through out the summer and always get them at either Costco or Sams. They have them in both places here.

At Costco, they are not usually with the regular butter. At least in our store, the regular butter quarters are in the end-cap cooler while the big boxes of individual butters are in the bottom of the coolers by the cream cheese, cottage cheese, cream.

Since it is a item Costco usually carries, would it be possible to speak to the manager and have some ordered for your dd's wedding?

Do you mean butter tubs? Or ramekins:

ramekins

Do you have any restaurant supply stores?? Or try:

CR beat me to it. I used to work for a catering company. We just take the little ramekins and fill them with softened butter. You can take a butter knife and add a nice swirl at the top. Or use a piping bag & decorative tip to pipe in rosettes. Chill them till firm.

Thanks everyone! You guys are fast! I was trying yahoo answers and google with no luck. My DD suggested trying the DIS, and she was right!

The Mystery Machine, dismom2....I will try Sam's and Costco again! Thanks!

goofy!....I did look near the other butter, so this time I will look near the cream cheese, cottage cheese, etc.:thumbsup2

Piglet, JessicaR....I did try searching under restaurant supply, but all I was getting was equipment, dishes, etc.

powellrj....What is GFS??

CathrynRose....No, I did actually mean the butter! However my searches kept giving me the ramekins, etc.:lmao:

Thanks again, everyone! I will definitely check Sams/Costco again! If I don't have any luck, I will check the other suggestions.

I'm confused. I still don't know what you're looking for. Are you looking for butter or the containers in which you want to put butter?

Individual 1 Tsp. servings?
I have one sitting here on my desk, my boss gets them at Smart & Final and keeps them in the fridge for us to use.

Aren't they called pats of butter? Just hoping the correct terminology might make your search easier. :flower3: Unfortunately I have no advice on where to buy them.

I did a quick search and the sams in MAPLEWOOD, MO have them...they have a box of 300 for around $8

Ohhhhhh - like the little pats of butter.

I understand now.

I have no clue where you'd get them. I'm surprised SAM's wouldn't have them, though.

NO LUCK!

I tried our Sam's without success. I asked and was told they have stopped stocking these, not only at this store, but across the board! I asked if perhaps another Sam's in the area would still have some left over that they just hadn't sold yet. I was told that it was highly unlikely since this Sam's had been out of them for a long time.

I'm stuck! I guess I'll just have to go with sticks of butter or slice the sticks up myself and hope they look decent!

My sister is going to check at Costco again, but I don't even see it on their website, so I doubt I'll have any luck there, either!

Restaurant supply stores

Or even try asking at a local restaurant they may be willing to sell you some. (I'm thinking like a Cracker Barrel)

Didn't you try the Des Peres SAMs? It has it listed on their site. I would call them personally and see what they say.
