Hi,

I booked BBB for my twin girls yesterday. (YEA!) This was one of my "must do's" for this trip and I have been doing some advanced planning/hoping as a result. Like most 4 year old girls-- my daughters LOVE the princesses!

For Halloween my girls dressed as their favorite princesses-- spent the $ and bought costumes at Disney Store...one has the Sleeping Beauty dress and the other chose Ariel (fins) The dresses are beautiful! They have remained in excellent shape as I have kept them in a closet and not in the "dress-up bin" so we could use them again this July. Now here is my problem--

DD1 does not like the fact that her Ariel fins don't "spin" like the Sleeping Beauty dress and really wants to be Ariel in her wedding :bride: or pink dress. I found the Disney wedding dress on ebay and it's $99!! This is the one from the park, I guess. Does anyone know where I can find a good quality Ariel wedding or pink dress? DD2 will be wearing the good quality Sleeping Beauty dress so I want to make sure they are both in quality dresses. Do I just have to bite the bullet and spend $99 on this dress...yikes!!

And is the Ariels wedding or pink dress available at the park? Anyone have pictures or know the cost?

I thought I read on here about someone who makes the dresses but could not find that information when I tried to search for it.

Thanks!

I don't have any ideas on where to find the dress but I do have a question. Does the dress look Ariel enough that people in the park will know who she is? I'm thinking without the long red hair like Ariel's people might not know she's is Ariel. Will she get upset by that? I know my daughter would start to get upset if everyone kept asking if she was another princess. And I'm quessing since you're doing BBB she'll me getting her hair done and not wearing a wig. Sorry I'm not much help just another thing to consider. I wouldn't want you to spend so much $$$ to have her upset that they know who her sister is and not her.:confused3

I bought the Ariel dress right at BBB (it was around $85). My niece did the hairstyle with the long red hair instead of the bun (Diva Princess?). I ended up doing the package that included the dress, crown, wand, shoes and pictures ($180).

Which Ariel "wedding dress?" I have never seen a pink Ariel dress (she's my DD's fav too). The dress in the parks in Dec/Jan was the greenish/blueish dress. Pictures do not do it justice...MUCH prettier on the child.
DD3 is wearing a discontinued version of Ariel's wedding dress. If you can find it, most likely it will be on ebay (that's where I found her's nearly 1 1/2 years ago). It wasn't $99, but was more than I expected on ebay.

The CMs know their costumes, but usually greet the girls as "Princess" anyway. The Disney costumes have a cameo on them that have the princess' picture. The only dress that is not specific to 1 specific princess is a white one that has a cameo of 3 princesses. It is supposed to be a princess wedding dress, but I think it is supposed to be the dress from Enchanted, since she is not a princess at the parks.

I knew the CM's would be OK. I was more worried about the other visitors to the park. When my DD was dressed up people would pass her and talk to her. But on the other note most of the people there know as much about Disney as all of us right????

Well....I guess it's possible but she was so upset that her dress would not "twirl" that I think she's be happy if it did just that. The "fin" costume is SO cute and I am so bummed that it makes her so sad. :(

What did the dress look like? Was it the wedding dress? When did you go? I have seen the one dress but it looks like it has been discontinued.

This is the one that keeps popping up on ebay for like $99. Good grief...I am hoping I can avoid buying it. But at that rate it might almost be worth just buying one from the park. I will already be spending $55 or what ever it is for the hair, make-up and nails. Add the cost of the ebay dress and shipping it comes close to the price of the BBB package for $180

Oh, and that multiply it by 2 since we can't just give one daughter the mack-daddy package at BBB. :scared1:

This is the one I bought at BBB in October 2008. Its much prettier in person and on that it is in this picture:

I did bring a plain white t-shirt for my niece to wear under it as my experience has been that the seams of the costumes can be "itchy".

I just purchased this dress from Ebay and it arrived today. It is beautiful!!! We are using it for our trip to BBB on DD 5th birthday!! I hope I can keep from showing her. It is going to be hard!!!

Just make sure to bring a t-shirt with you (I learned this trick having 2 DDs). Once the dress is on you really can't see it. My niece was complaining that the dress was itchy after she had it on for about an hour. When I asked her where it was on the seams. Since we were there in October I also bought a full petticoat slip that I brought with me. Between that and the t-shirt she ended up wearing the dress all day on the day we did BBB and all day on the day we did the Princess breakfast at Askerhaus.

I was outbid on this dress on ebay-- I think it would be perfect (and not as expensive as the other Ariel dress that I also love!) I like the fact that both dresses are from Disney so they will be just as nice as DD2's Sleeping Beauty one and the Ariel one that we are not using.

Well, i have about 3 months so I am sure I can find one! :)

Thanks, everyone!!

The white dress is no longer available at disney world the dress you were out bid on is the current ariel dress b/c it closely resembles the dress she wears at the princess meals. They do have on ebay right now I think it is the xxs 2/3 for 69.95 or best offer. HTH.
