Need help finding a good ski resort in NY

Hey. My friends & I are gonna plan a trip to a ski resprt this winter & I was hoping maybe someone could offer some tips or recommendations. We all live in Westchester County NY. It doesn't have to be too close, it would actually be nice if it was a little further away b/c it would feel more like a vacation then lol

DH took the kids to a 4 night trip to Gore mountain- they said it was beautiful, and great skiing. Not sure what part of the state it is in, though.

That is my DD's favorite place to ski.

Peak 'N Peek is where my son's HS Ski Club goes to. DD says it [Peak 'N Peek] is nice but Holiday Valley is better.

Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid! Lots of stuff to do ski-wise and other-wise. Olympic museum, ice-skating, horse-back riding etc. Went there after high school graduation and had a ball!

I believe they do. Do a search of Lake Placid/Whiteface Mountain ski asrea online. You can also ride in an actual bobsled on part of the actual Olympic track!

I love the Lake Placid area. Great skiing, beautiful town, great shopping,fantastic restaurants. The Mirror Lake Inn is just perfect-very pretty and clean. Gore also has wonderful skiing but there is not much to do near by. Lake Placid has much more going on and Whiteface is a more diverse mountain to ski. ENJOY!

Smuggler's is about six hours from you & is a haven for vacationer's it does have tubing as well as boarding and skiing & group & private lessons, children's camps, indoor pools & many other things as well...

Hunter Mountain - MUCH closer than the other suggestions It's south of Albany Max would be a 3 hr drive for you.

Yep, they have terriffic tubing. It's actually at the base of the olympic ski jump. It's a real long ride down the hill and you really get flying. Lots to do in town too.
