NEED HELP FAST, HOW FAR IS TPA (Tampa) from Disney?

FOund a great deal on airfare flying into tampa, how far away is tampa?

We drove from Kissimmee to Tampa last year. The drive took about 1 to 1.5 hours. Hope this helps.

Jared

Sooo..........didja jump on that TPA flight? We've done it and will do it again!

OMGOSH!!!

THanks for your help!!! I have been stressing because flights leaving Salt Lake City in Oct have been $367 rt!!!!

A new fare came out flying from SLC into Tampa for $118 rt!!!!!!!!!
(with tax - 167.50)

Anyway we got the tickets on AA and will make the 1.5 hour drive to save our family almost $700!!!

I'm doing the happy dance!!

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :) :) :) :)

addie-We flew into Tampa 2 years ago for the same reason, cheap tix! It was worth it. We used National car rental, the lot was RIGHT there. My son still talks about the palm trees in the middle of the parking area.

The drive over was easy and we stopped at the grocery store before going into WDW.

Going back was easy as well. Dropping off the car wtih National was quick and again very close to the airport entrance.

You won't be disappointed! And the drive only took us about an hour! Congrats on your great fare!

WOW, Addie!! Great fare!! You won't regret the TPA thing!

Have fun!

And...the drive is a snap! You will take I4 straight across until you essentially run into the signs for WDW.

Great deal on the flight, and you will also find that TPA is not nearly as congested as MCO. I have literally walked from the monorail to Baggage Claim, and my suitcase was there before me!!!

National is now offsite, it shares space with Alamo. It is a short ride, however.

I thought I read in another thread that Alamo is now on-site and shares space with National. Did I misinterpret the other thread (which I now can't find)? :o

Mike J--Alamo is on-site now at MCO, and seems to have moved offsite in TPA. Wherever they are, they are sharing space with National (and vice-versa)

I also may do this because of cheaper air fare. Does anyone know if car rentals are significantly more expensive in Tampa vs Orlando?

Mike, since the topic is about Tampa, I figured I would cover only Tampa's National and Alamo. National moved offsite in Tampa.

Alamo moved onsite at MCO.

Both Alamo and National are sister companies and they share space with each other.

That is a coin toss. Sometimes they are lower, sometimes higher in Tampa.

We did Tampa over New Year's. It was great. Smaller, faster exit, used thrifty rental, on site. It was only about 45 min drive and well worth the savings!!!!

From TPA plan on it taking 75 minutes to WDW. Not sure which resort you're staying at, but it took us in a cab 75 minutes from TPA to BC one night at 1:00am--so no traffic.
