Hi,

First off thank you to everybody that has answered my questions about UO. I really appreciate it. :thanks:

Now, I have a problem. I have bad knees and they are getting worse. The doctors and PT's said there is nothing more they can do for me. I've tried walking and will continue to walk for my trip in January 2022. The thing is I can only do about 7 or 8 of the long hallways in my building at one time. I know I won't be ready to walk enough by January. I'm in a lot of pain and don't take anything stronger than ibuprofen. I use topical Arnica Gel and it helps for a while then I'm in pain again. I have trouble taking pain killers. They make me wonky and disoriented. Also in my family we have substance abuse on both sides so it scares me to take pain killers. I have a high pain tolerance and the pain isn't at a top level yet. I'm determined to go and have a good time. 😌

I am thinking of getting an ECV for the 3 days we'll be at UO in the parks. The first full day we're going to Legoland and I think I could handle that day because I won't be doing too much walking. More of sitting down and standing. We are only going to Legoland because my friend is obsessed with Lego. I think she will get tired of the park earlier in the day and we will Uber back to the resort and have a rest, dinner and maybe some shopping(I'm not a big shopping fan I just want to get some things for my niece's and nephew's, my mom and myself.) I'm fine with going and sitting down while she looks around. I can walk more with siting down in between.

I know this is very long and I still have questions. So here are my questions:

Does Sapphire Falls Resort allow ECV's to be delivered to the resort and picked up later in the week?

If so does SFR have places to charge the ECV and leave it there for the night? We have a standard 2 queen room and I am not sure if it will fit in the room. I have to get a heavy duty one because I'm plus sized and 6' tall.

I'm a bit frightened by going on the water taxis with the ECV if they allow it and would rather go on the walking path and let my friend take the water taxi. She's very excited about the water taxis. My eye hand coordination is iffy at best and I wouldn't want to accidentally drive off the ramp and go into the water. This is something I would do if nervous and I would be nervous. Hence taking the walking path. Do you think taking different ways to get to the parks could work?

Do people bring ECV's into Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade? Do they allow ECV's on the Hogwarts Express? Are there parking areas at TWWoHP?

Okay I think that's it. Bless the people who hung on and read this whole post. Any answers will help me so much. :flower1:

With the exception of Hogwarts™ Express, none of the ride vehicles or attraction queues at Universal Orlando™ can accommodate Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECVs) or motorized wheelchairs. At the rides that can accommodate manual wheelchairs, you may transfer from your ECV or motorized wheelchair into a manual wheelchair provided at each location. If you can’t transfer to a manual wheelchair, please see an Attractions Attendant.

For your convenience, Universal Orlando Resort's shopping and dining venues are wheelchair accessible. Also, our stage shows and parades have reserved “Accessible Viewing” areas marked with the International Symbol of Accessibility. Please see an attendant for assistance.

You may want to call the hotel and see if they can provide you with an ECV accessible room.

All Universal Orlando™ hotels comply with accessibility requirements to ensure specially equipped guest rooms are available.

Bringing ECVs into Diagon Alley/Hogsmeade shouldn't be a problem other than navigating the crowds.

I only found one post about having an ECV dropped off at their hotel and they said that they had to be there to accept it when it was dropped off at the hotel but were able to leave it to be picked up. That might depend on what company you use.

Note that many of the attractions in the Universal parks do not permit ecvs in l in e. You have to transfer to a park-provided manual wheelchair (or walk). My understanding is that people have been told they may not use their own personal power chairs in line. I haven’t been to one of the U parks in some time so I don’t have recent direct experience.

Hi,

I'm not going on rides. I won't fit and I shake terribly after being on them. Neither is my friend. She doesn't like fast rides. We're going for the Harry Potter experience and food and shows around the parks. We both are Potter fanatics and want to be there for most of the 3 days. We're going in January so the parks close early so we figured we would get a lot done at TWWoHP in that time. Maybe I should post this in the Universal Resort section. I really need help with the resort aspect more than the park aspect. Mods maybe you could move this to the Universal Resort forum? Thanks. :flower1:

Taking ecvs is permitted on the Express.

You really don’t want to leave your ecv outside your room overnight. it is very, very easy to “borrow” an ecv and you don’t want to wake up in the morning to find your device has gone missing. Bad for the pocketbook and bad for your experience.

Using an ecv in Hogsmeade and diagon ally shouldn’t be any kind of issue.
