Would we be better to go to the MK after hours ticketed event on Thursday next week or MNSSHP on Friday of next week. We are mostly looking for lower crowds vs regular park hours for the rides
DAH would have lower crowd levels in my experience. We did both last October and DAH had less folks. The snack lines were longer than some of the ride lines. The downside is DAH is shorter.
DAH is specifically marketed towards lower crowds. MNSSHP is not. The only reason you should go to MNSSHP or MVMCP is if you want to pay for a little extra holiday theming. Otherwise there's no other benefit really.
I was at MK last Thursday. They had an after hours villains event scheduled that night and I briefly questioned whether it was cancelled. We stopped for ice cream at Edy’s just after 10pm and stayed for a while, waiting for the foot traffic to clear. The park was so quiet! If I didn’t hear the sounds of the rides running, I would have assumed it was cancelled. We rode Peter Pan with a 15 min wait just before regular park closing. We did MNSSHP 2 years ago and crowds were fairly large and we were there in late August. If you are looking for crowd control, DAH is the way to go.
