We've never been to WDW during the Christmas season. I'm trying to decide which week will be the best for my family (DH, DDs 5, 4, 2, DMom, DDad & me). I'm really looking at arriving the Saturday morning after Thanksgiving and staying until the following Sat or Sun. Is this a crazy week to go or will it be manageable because school is still in session?

Thanks for the help and suggestions!

That time is very good. It is busy but very manageable. Used to be one of the lightest times of the year but more are now doing exactly what you intend.

We usually go the first week of December but our AP's expire 12/04/05 so we are going the Saturday after Thanksgiving to Friday. I expect the weekend to be crowded but Monday to Friday should be good. If you are staying at a value or moderate, I would avoid Dec 4 to 10, that's Pop Warner week, they will be all over those resorts.

Well we went during the first week of December, thinking it wouldn't be too crowded, but it was mobbed!

We went 12/3-12/7 and it was so crowded over the weekend. Friday, Monday, and Tuesday weren't that bad, but the weekend was packed. Nothing like other early December trips we've taken.

You've picked an excellent time to go! While the Saturday and Sunday that you go will be very busy, the days after will be very light crowds. We went during this week in '04. On the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday after Thanksgiving the crowds were so light that they closed the Fast Pass machines....they simply weren't needed. We could exit a ride like Rock 'n Roller coaster and walk right back on! I have always read that the week after Thanksgiving is a great week to go and it's true! This was our best trip ever.

We also went to MVMCP for the first time. We had a wonderful time but, I will make one suggestion. We went on the Sunday night after Thanksgiving and the party was very crowded. This was also the first party of the season. I recommend that you go during the week rather than the weekend.

Have a great time!

We went the second weekend in December. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday the parks were ghost towns. The Saturday and Sunday crowds were manageable. I thought that the parks were empty compared to summer and spring break visits of past. I would say MVMCP was somewhat crowded.... but our other time in Magic Kingdom was empty. We never waited longer than maybe 15 minutes..and rarely fast passed. Great time to meet characters too.
