need help deciding on San Diego Beach

Planning a trip to DL and San Diego this July for the 1st time!! I am thinking of the following two beaches-- Coronado or La Jolla. I have a DD15 and DS 12. Thanks!!

La Jolla is where my husband and I went on our honeymoon almost 6 yrs ago and we LOVED it! It wasn't crowded like you see in the movies, I mean there were a lot of people, but not to the point of laying shoulder to shoulder lol. So I would say that one just cause it's the one I loved lol

Either one would be great. IMHO, Coronado has a few more other things to do within walking distance from the beach like restaurants and shopping, so it really depends on what you and your 12- and 15 year-old would like to do. If your family is only interested in hanging out by the beach, then both are equally nice.

Coronado hands down. If you can swing it stay at the hotel del coronado.

We have decided on Coronado. While I would love to stay at the Hotel Del Coronado the prices in July are very high!! We are staying across the street at the Glorietta Bay. So excited!!
