I’m booking a last minute resort only trip with some DVC points. We are very Covid aware and are trying to do this as safely as we can. So which would be best for a “let’s relax at the resort trip?” I can do AKL kidani, savanna view, OKW, Saratoga or Poly. Kids are 15 and 12 and just want to swim buy stuff at gift shop, do resort activities and enjoy the warmer weather. Husband and I would appreciate outdoor dining seating, and a pool bar. 😀 thoughts? We are doing nine days, (we need to use points and we NEED some R&R 🤪 We may end up caving and going to the parks, but it’s not our focus. Thanks!

My vote would be OKW or Saratoga for easy access to Disney Springs for the dining optíons. For a non-park trip, I would want to be away from the parks so I would not want to go to Poly. Staring at the castle would be way to tempting for me. With AKL being pretty closed up still, I wouldn't choose there either unless you plan to cook most of your meals in your room.

Out of your options, I recommend Kidani, because the animals are great to watch, and guests can can swim in two feature pools, in addition to the quiet pools.

I recommend avoiding Disney Springs as that's reportedly the most crowded and least COVID aware area of Disney World (we've been to the World twice since the pandemic started, but have not been to DS). With 9 days and 2 kids, I think you will end up in the parks. The resorts are great but just don't offer enough to do for a week & a half for energetic kids.

Ultimately, though, imo the best DVC property for you would be Vero Beach. We were there last week & they have a lot of resort activities each day, plus the pool, bike rentals, and of course, the beach. And it's far away enough from Disney World that you won't get lured to those parks that you don't really want to attend. Yet it's close enough to be able to fly in and out via the Orlando airport.

I would pick OKW. If I stayed at Poly, I wouldn't be able to resist a day at Magic Kingdom.

OKW is secluded enough from the parks to feel like its own destination.

Thank you all! We thought about Vero too. I’ve never been there. Maybe we could do a split stay. We will have our car so we could totally drive down there too. I also realized Jambo house has DVC rooms available. I wonder if that would be super weird and ghost townish? (We would be totally into it if it was lol). I actually wouldn’t mind staying in Jambo and shuffling over to Kidani for meals sometimes. Hmmmm...

I def. wouldn't do Kidani...we went in Oct. and it was packed with VERY limited food options. The pool especially was hard to fund seats due to how busy it was. We ended up going down to Jambos pool a cpl times and had better luck there.

We stayed at Poly in Sept and had a really nice time. The 2nd shower was awesome for us as well. I know it's undergoing construction right now, but for a resort only trip I'd appreciate being able to see MK, and maybe walk to TTC to catch the monorail around and resort hop a bit. SS might be nice too since you could walk to DS.
