Need help deciding on a gift for DD3

I was also going to suggest Cabbage Patch kids. Not quite so expensive but still lots of clothes and accessories (including the birth cert.!)

I think this little guy has quite a bankroll because he got his big sister a James Avery charm bracelet with a "Big Sister" charm. But she's almost 8 and has never had a thing for dolls. :)

My DD was not much for "babies" until she got her first American Girl doll. I think part of why she didn't play with her other dolls was that she didn't have clothes for them to change over and over again. She also has both sets of Bitty Twins and 5 AG dolls (thanks to Grandma :thumbsup2).

There is a lot of help she can do for the new baby too-getting diapers, bottles, etc. You can also have her snap up the sleepers, put the tab of the diaper down for you, help her burp the baby, etc.

I would also get her something that isn't "baby" oriented. We got DS17 a huge package of construction paper, some glue sticks and kid scissors when the twins were born. He would spend hours cutting little pieces of paper and gluing them on top of each other. It was an easy thing for him to do on the floor next to the couch when I was nursing the twins and minimal clean up for me. He and his buddy also were very into Batman at the time and they would make Batman masks and wear dish towels around their necks for capes. That kept them busy for a good YEAR. :lmao:

If she already has dolls she doesn't play with I wouldn't get her anything. A doll does not replace a real baby and she is just going to have to learn to deal with what she can help with and what she can. Let her hold the new baby under your supervision and teach her that she can't hold the baby if you are not there. This may or may not work. I have girls about 15 months apart, I put the youngest in a swing when she was about 6 months old and I was in the kitchen doing dishes in plain view of the living room. When I went back in the living room my older daughter had taken her sister out of the baby swing and was in it herself with her feet dangling over the younger one. No one made a peep. It is a funny story now though. She also used to throw toys in the littler ones crib and get in there herself and play with her sister!! So keep your eyes peeled at all times.

Since you live in GA, maybe you could take a road trip to Babyland General.

AWWWW Babyland General !!!! So sweet memories, I visited when I was in 4th grade with my parents. I had forgotten all about it.

bitty baby! my dd was 2 or 3 when she got her first bitty and she still loves them (she has twins and 2 bittys) still at age 6. they are great dolls with some very clever accessories.
